And you are completely right. All the best animals are down in Africa for sure. I've been to Kenya once when I was younger, and I'm planning a 1 month trip to Namibia next year, so I am indeed working on it!!

HaHa. I reckon I am about the luckiest bastard on the internet. (Along with how ever many million other Africans on the net.(Although a good portion of the South Africans I know have never been to the bush before... they are all city people.))
And unfortunately, I too, live in the city. Which means, for me to go see any real wildlife, it takes a good couple of hours of traveling.
But still totally worth it.
Also, if you get the opportunity, try to get to Botswana, to see the Okavango Delta... one of the greatest holidays I have ever had.

Yeah, I've spoken with a few other South Africans, and most of them don't even have a slightest interest of what's in the wild in their own country. o_o It's sad, really! damn it, if I had striped horses and huge kittycats in my country, I know where I would spend all my spare-time at. How someone loose interest in animals is just beyond what I can understand.
Jo-Buuurg! Man, I love Africa. I want to see it all! I've heard great things about the Okavango Delta. How awesome was it there, what did you see?
