By the way, it's been a while but: fuck Chrome. Now, one can only install add-ons from their Chrome Store, much like if Chrome was some sort of iPhone (which I despise precisely because of this locked-doors policy). So unless one is willing to tweak chrome settings or go through some non-friendly process, extensions are now Chrome-store exclusive, even plain old .user.js files (greasemonkey scripts).

Well, yeah, that's an option, but asking that from people so they can use your script feels sad
And honestly, what bothers me about the store is not only the fact that one has to pay $5 to enter it (even for creating free extensions!), but that it can't be paid for example with Paypal, it has to be Google Wallet...
