Strange.
That was the only word Picardy could say about it.
After personally meeting his boss' adopted son once again, he realized that this became one of those rare occasions that anyone considered him anything, as an acquaintance perhaps, but a photographer for hire.
Then again, he was going to pay the Canadian with his photographs. So much for a 'rare' occasion.
His dedication for photography was astonishing. He had prepared his backpack full of equipment -- tripod, lens, filters -- and his preferred brand of his camera hung from his neck. His passion outdid his ordinary appearance.
Fortunately, he didn't need his 'mini costume'. Embarrassing, to say the least. Who needed those ears?
Time to knock on Matthieu's door.

The Canadian was pacing around in the living room of the log cabin. It's been such a long time since he's been here last that he felt like he forgot something VERY important, but his mind drew a blank when he thought about it, so here he was, moving back and forth as he walked around frantically.
'What am I missing?'
He thought of his bear, but knew that if Al didn't treat him correctly, he'll get a hockey stick to his cranium, so he knew that Kumajirou was fine. Then what?

Picardy had thought that the silence was normal, but seeing how he knocked more than thrice, he was mistaken.
As much as he backed himself up with several theories, a burning sensation filled his head.
Then again, the Canadian did not promise.
He ruffled his dark brown locks, and sighed heavily.
Time to go elsewhere.

Surprisingly, he heard the last knock, running to the door. He yanked the door open, face flustered.
"P-Picardy!"
He shouted, trying to get his attention

The young man stopped.
A meter and a half had passed by.
He had stared down at the cement, perhaps unaware of his disappointment. The Picard, unlike his flamboyant country counterpart, was not a 'popular' region. He interacted only those within France, and nowhere else. When it was time to 'shoot the target' -- a codename for his boss' work -- he knew only basic things about others: name, age, appearance, country, interests. It refrained him from talking to them, but once in awhile, when someone would befriend him, he would go along regardless of that fact.
As soon as he heard the door open, a slow, unsure turn greeted the Canadian.

The flustered Canadian walked to the other.
"I-I'm sorry, I knew I forgot about something VERY important and- I'm sorry!"
Usually, it was the other way around. The nation would forget about him and apologize

"Ça va, monsieur," he said, slightly scratching the back of his head. "It isn't your obligation to help me, but it is appreciated. Pardon as well."
Seemed like he would have something to do after all.

He placed his hands into his pockets and followed the other man.

He walked into the living room and went down a short hallway, opening the door.

He expected little of what was going on. His thoughts wandered off to a state, imagining how the mountains in Canada would look like on film.

Picardy had forgotten to mention to the other that he wouldn't stay until nightfall, seeing how he didn't bring anything except his camera.
It was a rather nice room. A single bed with a lampshade nearby, some cabinets, a table, chair and a large glass window were enough for him -- perhaps even too much.
"I do, but I... euh, won't be staying long enough to be sleeping here," he said with a nervous smile on his face. "I did not bring clothes to change."

He blinked and let his hand fall from the doorknob. He spent all day cleaning out the room since he used it as storage to realize that he wasn't going to spend the night.
"O-Oh.."

"But... if you don't mind... I may stay until the evening," he felt the atmosphere going dimmer. Quite a dreadful feeling.

He looked down. if only the other had told him, then his hard work wouldn't have gone to waste!

"... you are very considerable, Monsieur, but I find it hard to pay back for your hospitality," he said, trying to put the right words together. He was not expecting this at all since they were only acquaintances, non?
"If so, I will stay for as long as it is needed."
This was slightly dreadful since it would mean that he had to wash his used clothes late at night. Guilt was a weak point of his.

The Picard gently placed his backpack on his bed and opened the bag with its rather important contents.

It seemed to him that the Picard was uncomfortable with staying here and dropped it.
"So, what did you bring?"

"Ah, certain things the camera would need. It's best to be prepared," he gave a slight smile as he lifted out a tripod. "I did not know where exactly we would be headed, so I brought whatever I could."
He removed from his neck his camera. "What photographs would you like?"
