I looked through your gallery and your recycled flowers are FANTASTIC! Amazing work! High-five! I would +fav +fav +fav +fav +fav ALL of your flowers but I think that'd be a bit too much so let me just say that I'm a huge fan of your work. =) (Smile)

I'd love to create art with recycled materials but I don't really know where to start. Where did you get your materials? I saw that you rescued them before they got to a landfill but how did you actually get a hold of them? I live in a city that doesn't even have a recycling program (despite many attempts) so maybe through the alternate form of awareness through art, I can encourage my city to spread recycling awareness or start a program!

anyways, i get my materials from donations from friends (im in college, so college kids drink a lot of soda & dont have recycling facilities on campus) as well as gather the cans that my family drinks. :D (Big Grin) occasionally i get donations from the community as well. i keep all the scraps and recycle them once i have used them to the point of no return. if i sell a piece, i donate 10% of the purchase to Greenpeace, to hopefully get recycling programs in areas like yours! art is always a great way to spread emotions like yours... GREAT IDEA

Aha, good idea! College kids DO drink a lot of soda... I'm guilty of that when I'm studying for exams or finishing up a prject! Hmm, I'll have to collect a bunch of cans and see what I can come up with! I was also thinking of creating art and accessories from used and empty gift cards. Gift cards look seriously cool nowadays and they'd make for some great collages, necklaces, earrings, and possibly even wallets or something!

I love that you donate 10% of your profits to Greenpeace! We definitely need a recycling program here REALLY badly.

yeah, a lot of the kids that live on the local campuses could probably recycle, but dont, so it works out kinda well for me. =p (Razz)

and i totally agree - i save cool looking stuff like that all the time XD my latest thing is saving greeting cards and christmas cards, so i can cut out pieces and make new cards of my own to give out. but thats me... a cheapskate AND an artist... lol.
