Wow, can't believe I'm saying happy birthday again. But there you go, another trip around the sun later, Happy Birthday Carl.

Would you believe I'm only seeing this comment now? I've been so inactive lately it's nuts. Thanks for the birthday message.Β

Thanks for the kind comments on War of the Insect Gods. Not my usual work, but I also found the image to be strangely compelling. I really enjoy your work. I am looking forward to seeing more in the future. "Figure - Back" is exquisite - nicely done.

That is so nice to hear, thank you! Your work is amazing, this last artwork of yours remind me of an "idol" of mine, Denis Peterson

Denis's work is really incredible. I one day hope to produce works of the same quality. I think it will take quite a few years before I can get there. Well, I hope anyway. Your work is also incredible. You have a great technique. I always enjoy looking at really good work.
Thanks for such a great complement though! I hope to share some more work soon. I have a few unfinished pieces that I hope to get around doing.

Unfortunately I don't know anything about painting and techniques, so I may seem naive by saying it, but that painting of yours would have fooled me, I haven't seen anyone else painting so well in "Denis's" style (and by Denis's style I don't mean it's his trademark, and everyone else would be copying him, but I can't categorize it as I do not know about painting)
Thank you, I'm really happy that you like my drawings, too!
I enjoy working with graphite, for the future, I was thinking about getting into using airbrush. But I think the reason I am "stuck" or in fond of graphite is due to my color blindness, which is subtle but is there, so I'm afraid of using colors, or mixing them. I do use them occasionally, but just basic colors, and 1 or 2 tops.
I'm looking forward to seeing new artwork! (artworks?*)

Yeah, I'm doing great. I've almost finished a painting. I've been working on it for a few months. I also finished another a few months back but I couldn't get a nice photograph of the painting, so I didn't bother uploading. I have a friend coming by to photograph my latest painting though, so really happy about that...
I've been a bit scarce lately, but will be back in time I reckon

I can't seem to get a good photo of any of my work either. I used to put it outside during the day and photograph it under the sun so it's well lit and I don't require the flash.
Can't wait to see your new painting. ^_^ I've got a few that need uploaded, but haven't gotten a scanner yet and I think they'll require it. =/

I usually wait for an overcast day because I like the white light, but not the yellowish light from the sun. I have a powerful photography light, continuous lighting, that I use to light the painting. I like the daylight bulbs. Also have another daylight task lamp. All really strong lighting. It's almost as if I can't have enough lighting sometimes. I've somehow managed to possition the lights so glare is not a problem while I work. I think my ownly problem is either me or my camera. It's quite old and I don't have a tripod. I just seem to have issues with white balance and blur. The photo doesn't always look the same on the camera's old lsc screen... So a bit of guess work is required.
Almost almost finished the painting, I think another two weeks or a month and it'll be ready. I only have a couple of hours to work on it each day.

Quite in depth questions and answers, although also quite informal, which I liked. It was almost as if I was sitting in on your conversation. Was a pleasure to read. I'm sure I'll end up rereading it sooner or later.
Thanks for the watch btw.
