# About me
I have not had any formal art training. My sister took art in high school and shared with me. I picked up charcoal and paper work. That then sat dormant for twenty some years. Christmas 2009, I started to write a story. With the story came the desire to illustrate. From some simple how to draw on-line tutorials to a deviant art tutorial and from lots of erasing and trying again have come my dragons and their riders. Thanks to several watchers willing to give helpful points, and various contests to stretch from dragons, I have moved on to colored pencils with earnest and doing some of the best graphite I have done yet. Recently, I was introduced to pastels and really love them.I am a wife, mom of five, teacher, artist and author. In my free time, I enjoy writing fantasy, writing Christmas programs, drawing using graphite and colored pencils. Portraits are my specialty. I also enjoy photography. Thank you to my photographer husband who has let me join his journey in photography as well. I am both his model and apprentice. (I still think he does a better job than me.) On occasion I'm his assistant when working with clients and when he needs a "light stand with feet".
