Hey,
Haha thanks, I was considering it but thought I needed a lot more improvement especially with character design and inking. Also I'm hoping to find someone willing to work with me to come up with a good story line and help out with the initial layout (lame how I can't even do that myself, right?). So lets just hope there's another competition like this round the corner!

Ha, no worries, stories can be pretty hard to write. I tend to get mine from listening to music and thinking up characters to go with it - bizarrely the concept for 9th Order came from listening to 'Sk8r Boi' by Avril Lavigne.  I can't offer to partner up with you, but if you ever want to run story ideas by me you know where I am.

Umm.... Mine's going alright. I've got another 54 days to finish it, and whilst I'm drawing for page 7 I haven't got past the drafting stage for some of the previous pages and none of them are finished. The ink I have runs on the B4 paper, so I've gotta find something else that'll work. Still can't draw backgrounds and my characters never look the same. Still need to shave off 4 pages, too.... You sure you don't want to enter, it sounds like you'd destroy me xD

Moving on xD, I'm sure you'll make it you strike me as a person who pulls all nighters to get it finished, also when you put the time you have left in days it makes it sound worse than it actually is, so don't feel pressured you still have around 7 weeks left ^-^

Yeah, 7 weeks does sounds a lot better, but I can't really afford to make myself feel comfortable. I need to speed up my pace! All-nighters I can definitely do, especially since I'm often up for, like, 50 hours at once when I'm doing my university coursework. I work better at night, but I'm trying to keep a sensible sleeping pattern, so we'll see how that goes. Glad you're on my side, though, and I you're right :L

There's one thing I have learnt through doing this, though, which may be of interest to you. When you're drawing individual pictures it's easy to keep repeating very similar things, even if you're trying to differentiate, or at least that's what I find. When you're drawing a story, however, it helps you to practice loads of different scenarios and encourages you to draw things that you'd never draw for a one-off picture. Even if you’re not drawing for the competition I’d definitely recommend drawing a story manga just to challenge yourself or force yourself to improve. Personally, I’m tempted to submit this work, and then if I lose show it loads of people to critique and then try to draw the whole thing again.

Ha, I know what you mean. I'm so glad I only have, like, three exams a year at university
Yeah, it's going alright; I've almost finished correcting the storyboards, and after using July to practice the delicate elements of drawing I should be well on my way. Hope you'll read it when I win the competition
