Well, no I guess it had nothing to do with the government. It was some sort of organisation that I found on the internet (surprise). It's called New Home Beruwala (Beruwala is a town in Sri Lanka) and they actually build houses for some rural families of which most still life in mud huts. Which does sound cool and these 'houses' are actually pretty perfect for the climate. But it sucks living in one room with 4 other people without a kitchen and without a bathroom and without beds and stuff.
But anyway. Two of the founders of this organisation run a little ECO-Lodge in Sri Lanka and that's were I ended up. Just working in the 'hotel' (two bungalows and two guest rooms) and doing other stupid stuff. Well, more stupid stuff than actual working, I guess. But it was great : D That's the lodge [link]

Okay, I get it. I was thinking about something like that. I mean, my cousin who also lives in Germany was somewhere there (Cambodia? Myanmar? I'm not sure) too on some special programme and he was teaching children English, German and other stuff. We went there because he want to join the Bundeswehr (ughr, I can't understand why would anyone like to join the Army) and it was some extra points or something.

Oh alright. I'm sure there are lots of places the Bundeswehr can send people to, cause until recently, there was the choice for young German guys whether they wanted to go to the army for 9 months or spend that time in some social work stuff, sometimes also in foreign countries (and they even get paid some pocket money like 150€/month?). But I never understood how one could choose the army part. Though some people do it, because it can be easier for them to find some place to study (things like medicine that usually need lots of waiting when you apply for a university) when you're part of the Bundeswehr. No idea how that works exactly, but that's the only reason I see.
