Whoa Hey! I was just thinking about you the other day, meaning to drop you a message.

I'm studying for my final exams right now, should be all over in a bit over a month.

My Art Major is finished and waiting for marking, I have a terrible photo of it in my scraps, was lucky enough to have it nominated to be in a local gallery, waiting to hear back from them.

How have you been, did you get in contact with that illustrator?

Hi sweety!

I think by now you've done your finals? How did it go! And how about your mark?

Yeah i'm doing my internship with him now it's amazing! www.johnrabou.nl he's really positive. He lives quite far away, so i'm only seeing him every friday. Monday to thursday i work in a studio, along with a few graphic designers and an illustrator. It's really nice, and not that expensive (160 euros per month, instead of the usual 350). They're a lot older, but nice and really good!

Apart from that i decided that it's time for me to take some drawing lessons, so i'm doing that every saturday as well. It's the old school, classic kind of drawing, totally what i was looking for.

Unfortunately i have this big school assignment, so there are not enough hours in a day. And i'm also looking for my next school, which is a huge problem, also timewise. I have to make better work, and quick! NO TIME!!!

So it's crazy around here, but hopefully i'll have a better chance to become some sort of a drawing person

I finished them today, finally done with High school at least.
And whoa his portfolio has some amazing art, good to hear you got the internship. Sounds like its quite the learning experience, what do you focus on with him or is a few different areas like graphics, drawing, illustration? and no doubt you sound very busy! Definitely a good drawing person and you can only keep getting better.

Well with everything done I've been busy trying to sort out stuff, I've applied for a course at the "Academy of Interactive Technology" and I'll probably start my course early March, its a Bachelor of Interactive Media so hopefully I can explore a few different areas and see where I'd like to go with my art. If all goes to plan I'll hopefully win either a $5000 or $2000 prize to help with paying for my course seeming as my art major was nominated for a local art exhibition.

Finally got it back so I'll have some proper pictures up soon. Apart from that just catching up with friends and celebrating the start of a new chapter!

He's so freaking good! His portfolio doesn't even do him justice, he has better work than that

Right now i'm kind off doing an actual illustration job. Usually with an illustrator you do a so called shade assignment; a fake assignment to practice. Because they have their own style and there's no way you're good enough. But he asked me to help him out, so i'm doing the pre-sketches he'll do the inking and stuff, but it's so awesome

So cool that you applied for that! Do you have to do a test or something? i really hope you win that price, but you're so talented, i think you'll be fine^^

Have as much fun as you can! The pictures can wait just relax for now, you've worked very hard!

I get my results on the 16th I think.
So sort of collaborating then, what are the mock projects like?
I don't think I need any exams, not sure if I need a portfolio... I'd expect to at least need that though...
Think I'll try and get the photos at the next exhibition, unrolling these things is a pain

How come you don't need a portfolio? And it would be weird if you didn't need to do any tests in advance, like an assigment at school or something.

Well got the results back, did pretty average, need to get my atar which is like all my exam/ class marks combined so should get that later, also considering leaving that course till next year now had some time to think and I might be better off looking around some more. That and time to work on a portfolio.

Eh, system is all based on numbers. The best students are all students from asia that stay on a visa. School likes them more because they bring in all the money
But I don't really need a good mark for arty stuff.
And yeah, I'll still check out the campus but I want to see what other courses are available.

Heh thanks, I'm pretty much the same. Just finished my resume so I'm keeping an eye out for jobs. Already sent it in to one cafe. Visited the collage I was interested in too, it actually sounds pretty good so I'll keep it in mind whilst I look around.

niiiice! When will your first semester start? I've just started my graduation project, we have to design an attraction (so a rollarcoster or something). So with our class combined we'll make a fake theme park. It's... intresting but i'm not really enthusiastic so far. We'll see how it goes. What kind of school is the one you want to go to? Do you maybe have a link or something? Oh and can you send me the pictures of your project?
