I'm doing okay. I'm finally resurfacing from the school year and looking forward to a few weeks of rest, reading, and getting back to the fandoms I love.

As far as LOK, you were definitely right; the last couple of episodes were FANTASTIC! I thoroughly enjoyed them after a frustrating first half of the season. Looking back at the season as a whole, though, most of the things that bothered me are still true. The other characters are ignored or made to be wrong so that a flattering light can be cast on Mako's character. They're STILL trying to wring more drama from the Asami x Mako x Korra love triangle. Unaloq was way too reminiscent of Tarloq while not being as compelling or well-motivated. While I didn't mind the whole Bolin x Eska thing when it was played for laughs, the thing with Ginger really irritated me and I didn't find it in character for Bolin (or maybe this was how he was supposed to be all along, but he wasn't written that way in season one). There were a LOT of OOC moments for most of the major players throughout the season, especially Korra, Bolin, and Lin Beifong.

On the bright side, Verrick is crazy-awesome, always, and I was glad that even though he turned out to be not-good, he never stopped being hilarious. Bumi was great, Tenzin got some excellent development, and the Iroh cameos rocked. All of the call-backs to the original series were great, actually.

While it was massively cool to see the first Avatar and get some more explanations about the spirit world, etc, I don't feel like the new information gelled perfectly with what we were told in the first series. (Did humans learn firebending from dragons or did they get it from a lion turtle? How should we interpret all of the bending-origin stories, such as  the tale of Oma and Shu?) Even though I sorta saw it coming, I disagreed with Korra's decision to leave the spirit portals open. While many spirits are benign, plenty are not (like Koh the face stealer!) and it is Korra's duty to protect humanity from them.  The natural world belongs to humans, just like the spirit world belongs to the spirits, and I don't think it's Korra's decision to make on her own.

However,  I am definitely excited about the third season and seeing where they take things!

This is exactly what I think. Varrick was awesome, indeed ♥ And I was glad to see Korra breaking up for good with Mako - let's see what happens next.

The whole spiritual/portal topic left me a bit skeptical, though I loved the concept of Raava and the story of the first avatar - explains pretty well how the avatar can bend the four elements.

On the other hand, I was disappointed by the poor characterization of Bolin who was even more reduced to a comic relief than he was before. Good thing he redeemed himself in the end by fighting alone the president's attackers, though - and, my, we even saw him earthbending! I totally forgot he could do that, haha.


Mmh, I'm wondering when book 3 will be aired.

I would be happy about the breakup if I thought there was even the slightest chance that their romance won't be dredged up again in season three. But we'll have to see.

Wow, it's like we're the same person. That's exactly how I feel! That episode might just be my favorite of the season.

There're some possibilities, indeed, but I really hope Asami gets some backbone and speaks her mind with Mako on this.

Haha, I totally loved Mako's face at that moment and Bolin who comes asking if he wants a hug.

In all seriousness, although I have ignored that collection for far too long, my muse has recently wandered back from whatever ditch she passed out in and given me a Raphael / Ishizu idea to write. Which excites me a lot, because hitherto, my only ideas for them had been novel-length... which would be great except I know my attention span doesn't last that long. So, as soon as things settle down at school, which should be soon, I'm hoping to get that written. After that, I don't know. Any suggestions?

No problem, I can perfectly understand the writer's block issue, especially when it comes to rare pairings.

I've been myself trying to write a drabble with them, but have no idea about how it will end. xD Maybe I should try finishing it and publish it, in the hopes it may give you more ideas
I'd definitively love to read some Raphael/Isis story from you! <3
