I'm sadly used to the kind of over-sexualization of Seras. Its gotten worse and worse over the years. It has followed along with the fandom getting younger and seeing only two things for the character. The 'art' I've seen.

I got as far as βSeras is androgynousβ and stopped reading. Comments like that will cause me to lose brain cells. If Thess thinks Seras isn't immediately identifiable as a woman she's hanging around too many freaks of plastic surgery.

I think she thinks that tomboyish = androgyny. She keeps bringing up the characteristics and personalities of Seras, Rip and Integra and NOT their appearance, and even when she does, she contradicts herself like a million times. Seriously, I don't know anybody who looked right at Seras and thought "THAT'S A GUY." Can't say the same for Integra. In fact, isn't Integra kind of infamous for that misconception?

Thess is engaged with a turf battle mentality. She wants to 'win' and doesn't care how. Once she started losing she wanted it away from everyone else's eyes.

Oh my god this is brilliant.
And yeah, she absolutely would have jumped all over that if they were in favor of AxI. I mean, look at how many AxI fans hated the TV Series/Gonzo and then all of a sudden there's a comment that says "Integra likes a vampire" or something (you can never trust Thess's translations) and she was ALL OVER THAT SHIT. All this talk about the TV Series not being canon and shouldn't count towards anything suddenly went out the window.

I'm not much of a 'shipper', far more of a horror fan. I will eventually have an Alucard and Seras shorts-series up (Fun With Bondage).
Basically yes. Alucard I found to be tolerable in the anime as he was limited in what he could do and had enemies capable of going one on one with him. The manga quickly ended any thoughts of him being a vampire and just gave him random powers to move the story along.

yeah... Hellsing's not a perfect creation by any means. Lots of silly plot points and character flaws.
But it's supposed to be good gory fun.

The plot never concerned me much. Everything is just a retread of something someone else has already done. The characters are his strength and that's what has keep me following Hellsing

Yeah the plot's nothing special... it pretty much boils down to "Alucard defeats the enemys!1!!"
Even the characters for me are a bit hit-and-miss. The characters I do love, however, I absolutely adore.
As for all the hysterical AxI nonsense, it's pretty much driven me to appreciate the Dawn arc more, since Integra's not in it, Walter and Alucard are (no Seras obviously, but can't have it all), and we have Arthur Hellsing instead who is just a bamf.
