You're quite welcome, very good work. As an aside, you wouldn't happen have any recommendations on books about Eastern Rome would you? I've read a few military treatises written by them and want to branch out a bit more.

Which period are we talking about? In general, "The Alexiad" by Anna Comnena andΒ "Constantine, the Last Emperor of the Greeks" by Chedomil Mijatovich are very good. The later was written in the 19th to 20th century, so it is a bit influenced by the contemporary Western perception of Byzantium as a decadent Empire, but is nonetheless very good if you are interested in the last decades of the Eastern Roman Empire.
Other than that, Michael Psellos' "Chronographia" and John Skylitzes' "Synopsis Historion" are also rather valuable, describing the reign of a good number of Emperors.Β

Thank you, a general overview is all I'm after at the moment though the Macedonian dynasty is really drawing me in after reading several treatises from the era abd that'll probably be what I focus in on.

Then Psellos and Skylitzes will be the most useful for you.
