I absolutely adore this girl. I have a small store on Etsy.com and am constantly looking for Β Black American/African themed images to make into throws and pillows that I believe promote healthy self-images of "we are beautiful, too". Β I saw this Β as a shower curtain on Amazon and purchased three of them Β to make into throws and sell...before I found you had been ripped off. I still want young girls to have this image in there bedrooms but I would like to find a way to compensate you for using her image. I get a lot of images from Spoonflower.com which is a site that allows artists to upload their work to publish on gift-wrap, wallpaper and fabric. I would love to make pillows with this image while you get paid for your artistry.Β
My daughter is also an artist so I understand your anger with people just taking your work. Before I put up this image as a throw for a bed on my shop (WarriorQueenDesigns) I want you permission to do so. If you don't want to I understand and will respect your decision and will not put it up. If you grant me permission, I will do what I try to do with all the prints form artists I purchase from on Spoonflower.Com Β by letting the viewer know where I got the print and directing them to the shop of that artist.
Please let me know if I can use this or not. Whatever decision you make Β I will respect.
