This time, the poem is mine:
Verily I say to thee, the battle lines are drawn
The war is just beginning, and the world will soon be gone.
Against the smoke-blackened sky, the ring of steel on steel,
A blazen-haired Mars scans the carnage, as bones crunch beneath his heel.
The cries of hate and anguish pierce his hardened heart
He swells his chest, satiated, Destruction is about to start.
He glances at his wayward brother, this giant god of war
and knows this human race will suffer like it never has before.
The grass will turn black with death, the rivers will run with blood
As the might Mars silently approves, "This," he says, "is good."
At last the war is over, Destruction has done his work
and pleased his evil brother.
Together they ride into the heavens; they have ended the human story.
In search of other worlds to conquer, for honour, war and glory.
