I'm trying to get "Solid Weasker" onto my friends list, but I'm such a newb at this site that i don't know how to send a friend request.

there should be a DeviantWATCH button on the right corner of the page underneath their icon that will take you to your friends list and solid weasker should be on it at that point then click update and then you can exit off that page ( it stays up even once your done) and that should work. if you need help just ask again!

Okay, I think I did that right, but I can't tell. Is there a way to check who I have listed as friends? I know there is the one bar near the top of the screen, but that just shows whose online right now!

the one that shows you whose online usually ones tells who is online from your friendlist so yeah it should be fine. but you could also go it edit page on your homepage and add the friendlist module ( don't forget to press done) and a list of people on your friendslist should appear somewhere on your homepage.
