Dear Caddy,

It has been a very long time since I was last on here and a lot of things have changed for me. I have no idea exactly how long I was away for, but I know for sure it must have been over a year at least. I had left this site for a while because I was dealing with some personal issues. (Mainly of the friend and relationship type.) However, now that all the drama has left my life and I've graduated high school I feel much better. It's almost as if a weight has lifted off my shoulders. It's quite a pleasant feeling to say the least. But, now I am facing the real world for the first time and it is a little intimidating. None the less, I will face all the challenges before me with high hopes and a strong will to back me up.

On a side note, I am doing very well and I'm pretty happy with my life right now. I may not be 100% satisfied, but who really is? Even the rich only want to be richer, if you catch my meaning. I mean, I'd really would like to finally get a job to save up for college, but I'm still determined. Nothing will stop me until I finally get a job somewhere. (Even if that dose mean getting a job at the same place as my Girlfriend. She works at Mcdonald's, which is mainly a problem because I hate their food. I wouldn't mind working at Wendy's because at least I actually like their food. lol) Anyway, I'd really love to know how you are as well, it's been a very long time since we last chatted and I'd love to know how you are doing.

With fond wishes,

Hello, Purple Magician!

I am really glad to hear that things have turned out nicely for you. A lot of people remember high school as an especially difficult time in their lives. And after graduation, things suddenly become a lot better. It certainly sounds like this is what has happened to you. So, congratulations! As far as looking for a job is concerned... it's never easy. Fast food joints are a good place to start, though - they are always hiring and they are pretty flexible when it comes to timing and schedules. Even if you don't like their food, getting one job is the ticket to getting another. It's all about the working experience on your resume, you know? And it's much easier to jump from one job to another than just waiting for one that you liked to show up.

Let's see... over the last year... I've been moving around, thanks to my job. You might say I am tired of living out of a suitcase! (Even now, I am living in a company-assigned apartment. I am lucky that there isn't anyone else here yet, but with these communal apartments, you never know when you'll have a housemate... or who that person might be.) I am working towards finishing up the training program soon, however. There's a big exam at the end that I am studying for, too. But hopefully there's a light at the end of the tunnel. After that... I am ready to settle down, get a place to call my own! (And maybe find myself a rescue dog to call a housemate. I think we'd both like that.) Here's to dreaming, hein?

Either way, I am so very glad to hear you're doing well.
Take care!

 Caddy,

That sounds terrible having to move around like that all the time. However, I certainly know what that's like. I used to have to move around ever few years because my dad work for the army. It was okay though, I really love to meet new people and make new friends; it makes me really happy. Plus, I see what you mean by just applying to anywhere. I'm most likely going to do that by applying to anywhere I see a sign saying that they are looking for workers. I really hope you do well on your test, (exam?), and you get to finally settle down somewhere that you like. Personally, I wouldn't mind moving to England or Canada myself. I just really love the weather they have there.

On another note, that sounds kind of weird just being shoved with any random person for a housemate. It must make it really hard to have your own privacy. I would hate having to live like that, privacy is the one thing that I love the most and just have to have it even if it would mean I could only have one hour to myself. I'd rather have that than none at all. I'd be miserable. I hope only the best for you though and I definitely hope that you do get yo have some me time even with the housing arrangements that you have.

Best of wishes,

TPMFTR

Hello, Purple Magician. Nice to hear from you again.

Yeah... the living arrangement really isn't ideal. Thank goodness it's only a short period of time at the end of the day. The training program lasts 2 years and I am almost at the end of it. And I am very thankful for that. And after the exam is done... hopefully it's just a matter of finding a place to settle down and call home for a good long while.

As far as the weather is concerned... well, England and Canada has drastically different weather. And depending where you are in Canada, the weather can be quite different as well. With the balmy Pacific coast, snow is rare and the temperature is usually mild. It's quite unlike the Atlantic coast where I am living right now... the hurricane that hit Florida came up north and knocked out a stretch of our highway that connects one side of the province to another. When I last have to drive through that region (which was... 3 weeks ago), the road surface was still just gravel packed in together. Now with the winter coming, hopefully they will have the surface asphalt in place before the feet of snow starts. So if you ever come to Canada, even just for a visit... don't come in the winter. That... or pick the West Coast!

Thank you for your kind wishes,
Tea-Caddy

Caddy,

You don't have to thank me for the wishes for I give them freely to all I believe that need them. Plus, that road work thing sounds like it caused a lot of trouble for a lot of people. I really hope it gets fixed soon. It's also good to hear that you won't have to be in those living conditions for much longer, it must be nice to know that you'll be able to live on your own soon. Or, at the least, with a roommate of your choosing instead of some random stranger picked anonymously from a list. (If that's indeed how that even works. lol.) On with some happy news though, I have recently applied to an ice cream shop in my local mall and I have high hopes of getting a job their come spring break. I really do hope I get the job their, it sounds like a pretty good place to work from what my brother's friend tells me.

However, even if I don't get the job there, there are other places that I have applied to as well that I have a good feeling that I might have a shot at. Especially once I get my alcohol handlers license in the next week or so. I'm super excited that I might actually get a job sometime soon, especially since I would finally have my own money to spend and I wouldn't have to ask my parents for cash for when I hang out with my friends anymore. Ah, a freeing feeling it will be.  On a side note, I used to live in Alaska when I was a child and I lived there for about 6 years of my young life. I sincerely loved living there and I wouldn't mind moving back there someday, it really was a nice place. It was never ever too hot outside and that's what I loved best about it. So, I really don't think I would mind visiting Canada in the winter that much. Anyway, I hope you are doing well and that you get that dog and apartment you wanted sometime soon.

Best of luck,

Hello, Purple Magician:

First of all, best of luck on getting that job at the ice cream shop!
I remember first moving out from home (and that was the first time the folks gave me some "pocket money" to call my own. I remember going through every old book store in town and picking through their "loony bins" (i.e. discount books for a dollar or less). And within a few months, my bookshelf was full. It was an exhilarating feeling. So I completely agree with you - it really would feel like liberation when you finally have some money to call your own! For that purpose... once again, best of luck!

I'm presently in a transition period - temporary housing, no permanent address, living out of a suit case in one rental place after another. Oh, and absolutely no say in who my housemates will be. And frankly, I'm getting tired of this. But at least there is a light at the end of the tunnel. In the spring I will be getting into probably the exam of my life time. And if I pass that, I get to get my licence and settle down to grow root wherever I wish. I am definitely looking for that! And anyone who wishes me good luck towards that needs to be thanked. It's not because I need to do it... it's because you really deserve it. I really appreciate everybody's good will!

And hey... Alaska! That means you're going to do just fine in Canada without an hitch! When I get settled down, I really should invite you over to visit! And weather be damned!

So... it sounds like we're both going to have an eventful 2017. Here's to us, and here's hoping we'll have a good year up ahead!

Tea-Caddy.

Dear Caddy,

Visiting Canada again would be nice, I remember the last time I went there was nice too. I visited the Manley Hot Spring there for my birthday. It was while my family and I where moving from Alaska to Texas for the first time. It was a lot of fun. Plus, around where I live, there is a place called half priced books where everything is half off and the books in the discount bin are literally on worth a handful of change each. (My mom literally got 5 romance novels for 10 cents, it's crazy cheap. Lol, I don't know what button I hit on my keyboard but, now everything is in italics and I don't know how to turn it off. Sorry~.)

On a side note, I'm not too sure if I'll get the job at the ice cream place or not. However, I did hear that they fired someone there recently so that raises my chances of getting hired there for sure. I do hope I get a job soon, there are a few things I really want to get not only for myself, but for my girlfriend too. One example being the complete box set of an old tv show that I really love called, " The Sentinel" as well as all 5 seasons of "Yu-Gi-Oh". That is what I really want to get for myself. That and I want to save more money for college and finally getting braces. I really need them.

Well, I'm just happy that you'll hopefully get what you want soon. I understand the need to settle down better than most people, that's for sure. However, if things do turn out for the worst and I really hope they won't, if it gets bad I just hope you get a second chance to get your dreams for-filled. Because everyone deserves a second chance. But, I'm sure you'll get it right the first time and get to have your dream come true. Anyway, I hope you have been doing well and that this year has been kind to you so far.

Best of wishes,

TPMFTR

Hello, my favourite Purple Magician. Long time no see!

Truth be told, my understanding of Western Canada isn't very extensive. I've spent most of my time on the East Coast; moving from city to city. But now that you've mentioned it, I do have family living in Texas. Just outside of Fort Worth, actually. I haven't visited in many years. But it would be interesting to visit again. Heaven knows, I've always wanted my very own 10-gallon cowboy hat. (They can keep the books with the spurs on, though. They are not very practical here...

One thing I do miss from some of the cities I've lived in is the discount second-hand books stores. Back in the late 90's, some of them were practically throwing the books out. It was as addictive as poison for a bibliophile like me. I remember moving out of one of my old apartments. I spent days just packaging books. My father who eventually came to help me said that next time I'll have to move all the books myself. Unfortunately, with the advent of electronic books, it's getting harder and harder to stay in the second-hand book business. A lot of the smaller, independent stores closed down because of that reason. It's quite unfortunate, really.

I really hope you'll get that job at the ice cream shop. It's nice to feel financially independent and actually get the things you want. It's a nice feeling, a "grown up" sort of feeling. While I am not fully familiar with the things you want to get, I believe that as long as they are important to you, then they are worth keeping on your list. We all have things like that on our "bucket lists", I think. Things that other folks may not quite "get" but means a world to us personally. I remember when I was finally able to track down the DVDs for an obscure old TV series from the late 90's. This happened a few years ago and it took place in a little flea market. But I must have smiled like a fool for the rest of the week. So here's to hoping that you'll get to achieve that goal at some point. Really, there's no feeling quite like it.

And thank you very much for your good wishes. I will definitely try my best. In the meantime, thank you once again for visiting. And thank you for your continued support! It's always much appreciated.

Yours,
Tea Caddy

Hi~!

I'm sorry I haven't been chatting with you for a long time. School has been pretty busy stuff for me recently and I've been trying to do my best. However, I'm doing very well and I am passing all my classes (thankfully). Plus, you are very welcome as usual~!

P.S.

There is this really cool tea website that I found that I know that you'll love. It's called  www.adagio.com/ or adagio tea. They have all kinds of teas on there that are just amazing~!

Happy Holidays,

Hello!

Sorry to hear that school hasn't been kind to you. Unfortunately, it is a part of life that most of us have to go through. But I -am- glad to know that you are doing well in school. All that hard work certainly pays off, doesn't it? I hope that you'll start to feel easier now that the holidays are coming up soon.

I do know about Adagio Tea, actually. The link showed up in one of Liam's posts (well, on his birthday post from last year). I think the company has some very interesting ideas. I just need to investigate more to know if their tea tastes as good as their ideas!

Happy Holidays to you, too.

I've had quit a few of their teas and they taste wonderful~! My personal favorites are vanilla chi and this fandom tea called 'Heart & Mind' that's in the Sherlock fandom. However, I also enjoy this one tea called 'Lavender & Mint' it is literally made of what it's called. With all of these teas I enjoy putting either whole milk into it or half & half, I really enjoy teas that a creamy in texture and flavor. But, those are not the only teas on there and there are many more teas that I have yet to try that I'm sure are just as lovely. It really dose have a tea for everyone. However, these are all lose leaf teas so I would suggest investing in a nice strainer that would fit in your mugs. I personally bought a sink strainer and used it as a tea strainer instead, it works wonderfully. I highly recommend them.

I'm doing pretty well in school, so working hard on it really did pay off.

Take care,

You don't have to worry about tea paraphernalia with me. You know... when you are out for good tea, life helps you to find a way. When I was in university, I used a French coffee press as a tea strainer for loose leaf tea for 4 years. And hey, it works wonderfully. I do believe you when you say "there's a tea for everybody" out there with Adagio. But that's probably why it's so daunting. There are literally thousands of different kinds of tea out there - and I am of a mind that unless I can be there to actually at least put my nose into it... randomly ordering teas off a catalogue is a bit a wild goose chase. Especially when these guys are so far away! (I live in a less-travelled to area in Canada.)

But thank you once again for the recommendation. It's something I will have to spend time on in the future.

In the meantime, glad to know that you are doing well in school. That's an important aspect of everyone's life, that's for sure. While you probably don't need it - best of luck regardless!

Take care,
Tea Caddy

That's epic~! My mom has a coffee press too, I had some coffee out of it once and it was a little too bitter for my liking. And yes, I do admit that it kind of is like a tea lottery. That's why most people go in with a sense of what kind of teas they like ahead of time. However, I do like to try new things and Adagio is the place to go for that sort of adventure. There are teas galore and you will never run out of new teas to try. You can even become a member and make tea blends of your own. Which is pretty epic.

Plus, thank you for wishing me luck! I'm going to need all the luck I can get if I'm going to pass my algebra 2 class. It's soo hard! I have never done very well in math and now they are throwing things like this at me? Imaginary numbers? SERIOUSLY!? And I thought dealing with regular numbers was bad. Oh well, I'll just have to do my best and hope for the very best. At least my test was all multiple choice, I usually do pretty well on tests like that. Oh, I wanted to tell you about my psychology class, Because I'm pretty sure that I passed it with an A average for the year. Which is epic~!

I also wanted to show you a Thai tea recipe that I found online. It's really good and I love it to bits. Here's a link to it.

Well, I hope you have happy holidays and so on. I just got out for my winter break myself.

Coffee press coffee tend to be a little stronger than steamed or brewed coffee that you get from the machines. It's somewhere between a brewed coffee and an espresso. Not everybody likes that taste, but some people swear by it. But that just goes to show you that sometimes the tea paraphernalia can go a long way into how a tea tastes. I really do like the idea of Adagio and one day when I have a more stable mailing address I'll be more likely to check them out (my job is sending me to all sorts of different places for months at a time. It's not great, but at least it's temporary.) So some time in the future, I'll be more inclined to give Adagio and its myriad of teas a try.

In the meantime, yes... algebra is hard. Heaven knows, if I still remember how difficult algebra was 10 years ago... you might say it's left an imprint on my brain cells. The idea of imaginary numbers is usually the step people take when they either float on faith or plunge over the cliff. I think I barely held on by the tips of my fingers when I took that class. It wasn't fun at all. So best of luck with it! No one can blame you if you tried your best, right?
In the meantime... congratulations with your psychology classes. That's quite a feat! Epic!

Thanks for the recipe. I'll hopefully be able to try that out soon. It's not the summer here... but I don't really care!

Please take care of yourself and enjoy your break. I work over Christmas and have a few days off for the New Years (which I am going to take to fly back home to see the family.) Time can be pretty precious, so take this opportunity and enjoy!

Best wishes,
Tea Caddy

Thank you caddy, It's always makes me happy to hear from you. Plus, yeah, I had a wonderful Christmas and I hope you have a very happy new year. I'll do my very best to do well in my math class and hopefully my friend will help me with it so I don't fail. I really don't want to have to graduate from summer school~! That would totally suck!

However, I will do my best and pass my classes so I can graduate!

I am so glad to hear that you've had a wonderful Christmas. It's the time when family comes together and people share good will. Unfortunately, I had to work through the Christmas period. That's why I took a few days off to visit family over the New Year period. Sorry for the late replies!

I never really liked math class. I was able to pass them alright, but that didn't mean I enjoyed them! I hope your friend is able to help you out with them. All the best of luck!

A belated Happy New Year to you, my friend,

I'm glad you got to spend time with your family. It must be nice to be able spend time with people you care for. I have been trying with all my might to do better at math, with little success. I will do better though! Even if it makes me lose a few nights of sleep. Plus, it's okay to reply late. It's better than never replying at all. However, I could be better in the social area myself. One of my 'supposed' friends from schools has been saying some pretty distasteful things about me behind my back. The same friend who has broken up and gotten back with her Boyfriend 8 times. So, I could be better.

I just hope you are having a better time wherever you are now.

With care,

Glad to hear from you again. Hopefully everything is going well with you.
I am sorry to hear that you have unsavoury people around you that are speaking ill of you. But if it is any consolation... all this shall pass. The world does not end at the school yard. Just because some folks decides to spread distasteful things in the school yard doesn't mean any of that has any bearing in real life. So please don't let it cloud your mind.

Math... on the other hand... has always clouded my mind. I believe in the principle of "Good enough". I don't profess to be great at math, but I know enough to pass my classes. Not all mums and dads like the idea, but at the end of the day while math is very useful, it's how to use it that is really useful in the life outside of the school yard.

I'm doing relatively well. The work is going to send me to a different city for a few months again. Not looking forward to making an 9-hour drive in the middle of winter... but then again, it could always be worse, right?

So hopefully you'll stay safe wherever you are. And take good care of yourself.

cheers,
Tea-Caddy.
