# About me
I'm a senior in highschool at Durham School of the Arts. I am studying sculpture, but I got my start in art with drawing. I still draw actively (mostly cartoons) and I am aspiring to potentially study Animation or Illustration at MICA, UNC Asheville, or SCAD next year.In addition to drawing and sculpture, I also have many art related hobbies. I work with sculpey, mixed media, and I cosplay (rarely) as a hobby. Most of my cosplay pictures aren't shot at conventions, as the only one I attend regularly is Animazement.
I'm very friendly, and feel free to note me or post on my wall! I'd love to get to know some of you all!

I don't know why I didn't reply to this.
I use fleece to make them, and I use ~clearkid 's pattern/tutorial as a base (I've modified it a bit to fit my needs better, but it's a good starting place).

I mostly use fleece. However, there a few hats where I used other types of stretch fabric, such as the Pabu hat or the Zebra hat (they both utilize a sort of stretchy fur like material in addition to fleece).

Haha, no problem! I thought it was really interesting to read actually, and I plan on buying a dress form once I enter into college next fall if not before. I have been sewing since I was 3, and draping is something I always watned to try but never really knew how. I'm very excited about it to be honest haha.

Awesome, okay. So I'm going to start my next cosplay (which will be Korra, the image I am referencing can be found here: [link] ) Anyway, I feel as though I can make the dress overall, I'm just concerned about the collars. In all of the show art the collar doesn't appear to be seperate frmo the dress itself, however I can't wrap my mind around how to do it without making it a seperate piece and having there be a seam there. I hope that makes sense o_e

You're absolutely right, it would be a separate piece. They just often leave out seam lines for ease of animation. You're sort of lucky, though- Mandarin or standing collars like that one are actually just rectangles, where most collars are more complicated than that.
