Yep. Last time we went shopping she broke her records (but she -did- spend a good chunk of it on stuff that some forum member of our local anime convention was selling). She spent $50 on that, and then bought a few games (always with heavy anime graphics, so I count them). By the end of the day, she was out like $300 bucks and hid her purchases like they were porn. (Which is funny because some of them were more mature, and her mum's a strict Christian.)
When me and my mum shop, I do the whole looking at her like she's retarded thing because I don't like the things she picks lol. But I get what you're saying, she gives me that look when I shop for games...
