Absolutely - I have loads more I've done but just not uploaded yet.

I'm spending most of my 'well' time doing more for the Shadow World RPG setting books (ironcrown.com/shadowworld ). The rest of my 'well' time I'm playing Starcraft.  

Unfortunately, chronic migraines take up the majority of my time.  

One day I will use one of my Starcraft2 hours to do a mass upload!  I like to write about my uploads - which takes time.

I'm having fun with the beta currently but am looking forward to my Collectors edition (which includes the SC Manual with your size chart)! It was those sizes that let me to your page in the first place and I'm glad you got the gig!! Do you have any more blizzard goodies on the way?

Glad to hear it! Art (and Starcraft) are both important to keep up, hah. I'm sure you're coping with the migraines the best you can.

As for me, I don't have anything else with Blizzard in the works, but hopefully I'll get the chance again in the future! It really was a great opportunity. For now, just more fan art.

Did you get a lot of feedback from them regarding the sizes of the units or was it your own research?

There are some units I don't recognise and you've labeled a few from the unfortunately unpublished Starcraft Ghost. (I would have definitely played the hell out of that!! Maybe after a successful FPS launch of OverWatch, they may give Starcraft Ghost another try again... I can live in hope)  Where did you get those sizing information?

Some of the ships could have benefited with an overhead view as well as a side view - the battlecruisers in particular (as well as the tempest - he was a difficult one to recognise without the label)  But they are all awesome!!  

I love the inclusion of some of the buildings as well by the way.

All of the sizes and drawings on deviantart are ones I researched myself (or got input from other Starcraft fans). So, the ones here aren't 100% accurate or authoritative— the book's version was done with direction from Blizzard, but you'll have to wait for it to come out to see the official sizes!

For the Starcraft: Ghost units, and all of them really, I just tried to pore over as many references images and videos as I could find, and it turns out there's a lot still out there. Ghost screenshots also really helped for some of the classic units that didn't have a lot of information— like, here's a Ghost screenshot showing lurkers, siege tanks, a spore colony, and some tiny marines in the middle. I basically have a bunch of reference folders of stuff like that saved.

I definitely agree on the ships! Which was part of why I started learning Maya and making 3D models of all the terran air units. After my first try at unit sizes back before HotS came out, I went and made rough models of some of my drawings and found out that sometimes the proportions were wrong, and edited them for the more recent updates, and that's sort of an ongoing process. Here are the top views of some of the terran models I've made in the past few years (third from the right is the Grizzly from SC:Ghost), though again, these are pre-Blizzard official sizes. Here's a rough model of the "Minotaur" class battlecruiser that matches my side-view drawing. When I have more textured models like the ones in my gallery done, maybe I'll upload a top-view chart as well.

I am definitely looking forward to the Collectors Edition with all the official sizes.

Did you have to do the extra LotV units as well?

One more quick question and then I'll stop bothering you: Did the size of the Broodlord on your galley get changed a lot for the book? I love the size for the Carriers and Battlecruisers (which are classed as Massive units in the game) but compared to them, the Broodlord is tiny yet is still considered a Massive unit as well. (Not to mention the corruptors that deal bonus damage to Massive units is also tiny - although it's not a Massive unit itself, you'd think that it would be on the larger side).

Don't worry, it's not a bother, hah. LotV units will be included in the book, but I don't think I can discuss any specifics about what the exact contents are, and I've just been being avoiding discussing the specific changes they told me to make. I'm sure that Blizzard wouldn't consider knowing one particular size a big spoiler or anything, but I'm just being vague across the board with everyone. So, I'm waiting for the release date too, to be able to talk about all this stuff!  I'll get back to you in a couple months.

(I will point out though that Archons and Ultralisks are also massive units! And I don't think Archons should be carrier-sized... And then also Brood Lords are kind of flat in general, so the size doesn't exactly come across well from a side view. Another reason to get a top-view chart going!)

Have you seen any advance copies of the book as you were a contributor or do you have to wait for the 10th as well?

I actually haven't, hah. They are sending me a couple copies but I assume just at the normal release date. Looking forward to it so much!

I'm also really down with the Nova campaign... Though I do want to wait and see how the payment system for it will work, if there will be in-game currency like in Heroes, etc.

It's a funny story with the Liberator. Unfortunately for it, the artwork for the manual was completed soon after the Herc was cut from LotV, leaving terran with only one new unit. But then you'll notice they had me do a new drawing of that SC2 valkyrie design... which was based on an unfinished, half-textured model. So a month after the work was done, when Blizzard announced a new terran air unit was coming, I was sure it would be the Valkyrie! Nope, hah.

I do have a Liberator drawing I've done since, I'll upload it soon.

It kind of does what the Valkyrie did against air targets (as they both do splash damage) with the addition of the Liberator's super ground attack siege mode and they could have just added that to the Valkyrie.  

I'm very glad they didn't and made a new design because the Liberator looks gorgeous!!!!!!!! (and very anime style). I think it's my fav model in SC2 now with the Siege Breakers (merc unit of the Siege Tank) bumped to second place. I'll look forward to your upcoming Liberator submission. 

I also just read your Q&A on the Starcraft site - very nice. I bet you'll be getting lots of new fans now especially as you talked about doing a Starcraft cinematic.

For the cinematic, if you have Poser , you could grab these and save yourself a little bit of time (although they'd probably come with an OBJ file as well):

Thanks, definitely a lot of texturing and animation work before the cinematic is finished. Thanks for the model links as well, but I'm focusing on only using models I've made from scratch (and also at least at the beginning focusing more on things like space battles that don't require the kind of complex character animation Kerrigan would. Plus I was a little sad at the lack of a proper space battle cinematic in LotV.)
