This art stuff does not come easy. That's how it goes. It takes a lot of time. You know how long I've been drawing? Since I was 9. I'm 20 now and I still barely match up to people who are years younger than me that I see on this website. Try not to compare yourself to others, because it'll just fuck up all your emotions and confidence. Their art looks better? Whatever. Good for them. If you do compare, set that as a goal, use it as inspiration. Don't use it as an excuse to give up.
Just never stop drawing. Always be drawing. Draw in your school notes, draw on the bus, draw while watching TV. Just pick up a drawing utensil and go to town! Yeah, everyone starts out somewhere. I was total crap when I started, but I've worked past that by doing research and figuring out what works and looks right.
There's no such thing as talent. There's skill. People who put the time into learning their craft. People who don't wallow in self-pity and give up when the going gets tough.

I've also drawn for a long time. And it wasn't people on this site that discouraged me, it was people in real life. I foolishly watched a friend draw something in seconds that would take me two months to complete correctly. It also didn't help that my parents didn't approve of my art style.
But thank you for the encouragement. I'm not gonna stop with the stupid memes, but I will pick up the old pencil and dig up my old art pad. Maybe in the future I'll get somewhere and post something worth looking at.
