Sorry about thanking you for the fav, I honestly didn't see you saying that you didn't want me too. Just out of curiosity here, why don't you let people thank-you for the favs and then just delete them in your inbox, especially since no one seems to see you asking them not too? Just wondering.

Because I don't see why they should thank me for liking something they put so much effort into making their deviation great. I should really be thanking them for making such a great deviation.

Hmm, I see, but I guess it's like when someone compliments you, you say thank-you. That's all the artists are doing. By faving their piece you are complimenting them, so they are saying thank-you.
Well, out of experience, I know how time consuming it is to write a personal thank-you to every person who favs. It just can't be done, so yes, it's not personal to you anymore, but you still deserve a thank-you.

I'm glad to hear that! I hate to see shots that are practically the same as my own as DD's with "Minor color enhancements." It rubs me wrong. >.<

Actually, while I think it would be an honor to be given a DD, I've seen some pretty crappy pictures and other artwork that have been given a DD. I don't think shots that are manipulated should be allowed to qualify for it. After all, anyone can make a crappy shot amazing with some photoshopping. It takes a great photographer to take a shot that looks amazing without having to touch it.

I agree. If the colors are changed and such, it should be under a different section of photography. I've seen some pictures with color enhancements and they're great! But I think they should be sectioned off from the untouched photography.
And yeah, I just want to get my photography known, but no one seems to care enough to look through my gallery and it's upsetting. Especially when I've taken the exact same shot as a DD and gotten no recognition. A DD that anyone could have replicated.

Don't worry though, the people on here are not the ones
you've gotta please. I personally ask my family and friends
which of pictures they like best and I mention them in my
commentary if they really offered something to me whether it
was criticism or compliments. To which of your pictures are
you referring may I ask? If you haven't joined many groups
yet I'd recommend looking for some that fit your style and
which don't have extremely restrictive tastes. Because if they
just don't accept any of your stuff and give you a crap excuse
(this has happened to me a couple of times) why they didn't, that's
not going to help you any. I'd recommend some of the groups I belong
to if you're looking for nature photography.
When you're looking for a group don't feel afraid to "settle" for a group
that appears to just accept anyone and anything into it. I've found that
these groups are the ones where you'll get the most appreciation for your
work and the best, most honest feedback. You'll also pick up a bunch of faves
and watchers while you're at it.
I'll never be nominated nor receive a DD but I'm happy that my friends & family
like what I do. Those who tell me to change how I shoot or how I take a shot
or to edit it when it appears to them that something is "wrong", I simply tell
them, that's how I shoot and I believe in WYSIWYG. Any amateur can take a crap
shot and make it amazing in photo-shop, it takes a great photographer to take
an amazing shot and turn it into an amazing piece for your collection.
