We'll most likely need mods anyway (there WILL be admins, but since they "have a life" we might not login with these accounts all that much, you know?) and if we do I'll make sure to let you know~

If you want to think of a character already, here's the concept~ 

you're basically going to be someone (from real life) who goes online. They make up a false or not so false identity, like everyone does when they get online. The forums itself is a mix between a discussion and a game that the admins are working on the side, a MMORPG (which will be done in RP because we're not gonna make a game LOL)

there will also be a general RP section, so you can basically do whatever you wish to. <:

Ah, ok, I see what you mean. So, there's going to be almost two sides to the RP. There's going to be a "real life" discussion board and then the "in-game" RP area, right?
Then, from there, there's also going to be a general section for people to RP whatever they want.

Are people going to have different levels in the MMORPG side of it? Whether it's based on the number of posts or how involved they are or whatever. Also, are you gonna pre-set the classes(like swordsman, mage, etc.) or are people going to come up with those on their own? Are we gonna have any sort of class system or different races for the in-game side? Also, are you gonna have the discussion and game stuff be two parts of the forum, or are they gonna go simultaneously in each post?
(I have more questions, but that's probably enough for now. XD)

and yes, but the game's RP will probably done after the forums open cause i want to open a 'item' request tread. Also ill make a dress up game where you make your character <:

and you'll choose how good you are in the game depending on how involved your character is and how much s/he plays, etc. so far it'll be medieval-ish with a demon/angel theme (but obviously more things will be available too) and the classes will AT LEAST include summoner, healer and most of the classical stuff. there will be general discussion and game discussion in the board itself. c:

Sounds awesome! And trust me, I've felt the same way. I've tried to do RP's like this in the past with people where you mix an MMORPG and real life, but most of them just fell through. XP

And the "item" request thread... would that be like, people ask for certain items and then a group decides which items would be allowed in the game and such and people could then use those items?

And the dress up game sounds fun. X3

Yeah. Hey, question, do you know if I can register battlefield bad company through steam? Cause I tried to enter the product key that I got when I bought the game and it's not recognizing it. I mean, I looked and you can buy it through steam.... so I don't get why it doesn't recognize my product key.... XP

Eh... I don't think you can only register games you didn't buy on Steam if they use Steamworks (e.g. retail copies of Valve games, etc.). As far as I know, BC2 doesn't use it.
You can still add it as a Non-Steam game so your friends will know when you're playing, but I've heard stories about PunkBuster banning people just because of the Steam Overlay =/

Ah yeah, I forgot to mention - It wasn't always like this. As far as I know, people without games on their accounts can't add friends, right? Or are there more limitations?

Anyway, they did this because too many people used Steam like it's Facebook or something, while it's main purpose is digital distribution. A lot of people had no games but hundreds of friends (e.g. furries who only registered to typefuck with others), and didn't have any games. It sucks but I can see why it was important.

And as I said, keep checking the store for sales. They just switched their Midweek Madness sales (one game at a very low price for a week) to Daily Deals, i.e. one game is discounted for 24 hours every day.

And if you're just looking for some games to buy sometime, I'd recommend The Orange Box [link] IMO it's one of the best deals ever - five of some of the best games ever made (Half-Life 2 and its episodes, Portal and Team Fortress 2), for a decent price.
If you're interested in FPS games you should definitely get it sometime.

There are also huge sales during summer (starting sometime in June or July I think), and December, with LOTS of games at ridiculously low prices.

Anyway, I hope you can get this sorted out. But I still doubt you can register BC2 on Steam... You could try asking on the forum [link]

Naw, I checked it out and I don't think I can add it as a steam game, even though you can buy the game through them. XP
I'll have to keep my eyes out for games that are on sale, though I do see why they would want people to buy a game first before they get too involved on steam. It's still kinda silly, but whatever. Thanks for letting me know about those sales. I'll have to watch for good games. :3

Well, it makes sense - Valve gets 30% from all games sold on Steam, but as they didn't develop or publish BC2, I can see why it can't be registered. After all, Steam auto-updates games and keeps track of playtime, and that costs money for them. And if you didn't buy BC2 on Steam, that means they didn't gain any profit from it, and they don't want to "waste" their bandwidth.
