It takes place between Alien and Aliens.
It's ok. Imagine Dead Space 1 and 3, only with Xenomorphs. It's a lot like that.
I was looking up stuff for Alien: Isolation on the day I saw the book. I just couldn't stop myself from buying it.
This book tells the tale of an unremembered adventure of Ellen Ripley. Speaking of Isolation, she thinks of her daughter, Amanda, a lot.

Yes, I can't wait to play that one. Hoping for gameplay similar to Amnesia when it comes to the alien being around. Much scarier when you can't physically fight it, but it can kill you at any time.
If the alien is scripted animations only, it'll be kinda lame.

Scariest game I've recently played is Slender: The Eight Pages.
It's the unpredictability that makes it terrifying.

there's a fiew. I know Amnesia: the dark descent, I think, is the name of one of them. Scary ass game. look nothing into it before playing. Play with light off for hardcore mode. it's literally one of the only games that I had to take consistent breaks from due to fear stress haha

I still remember how awesome the pictures, trailers and demo for Colonial Marines looked... The finished "product" was so different.
Still, this is being done by a different company. New blood might do the game franchise some good. Can they do any worse than gearbox?

Great art. I'd love to see something wholly unique, though. I know you have it in you, seeing as how you were able to create unique versions of existing things. Just a suggestion, but it would be awesome in my opinion.
