After 20 years, MillionaireΒ is now in its final week of new episodes. The final 5 episodes of the show begin airing on Memorial Day (i.e. Monday, May 27) and the series finale takes place on Friday, May 31. Reruns of the show will air beginning June 3 and continuing until September 6, after which Tamron Hall's talk show premieres on September 9. We would like to thank everyone who has been involved in the production of this show throughout its entire run on ABC (1999β2002) and in syndication (2002β2019) and we will certainly miss having MillionaireΒ on our television screens.
The cancellation of Millionaire was not unexpected given the fact that the show has been suffering a major decline in viewership for quite some time dating back to Meredith Vieira's departure. The show will end with 12 million dollar winners and 2 contestants who lost on the final question. Over the show's 20 years, the contestants have won a total of about $101 million.
