I like seeing my inbox flooded with your pieces.

thank you. That's so nice to hear. Hopefully things are settling down enough for me to get back to my world of art a bit more. Thanks for missing me!

Hope you didn't burn your fingers playing with fire

That's so nice! Forutnately no new scorch marks. Have been working on a huge brick patio so not much free time to work on jewelry. Did get to knit two scarves this week.

I have a waterlilyish thing that I can't figure how to get organic enough without going too far, and you're much better at variation and square wire
How many types of crafting do you do?! Are we going to get photos?

Let's see, does trim carpentry count as crafting? bead weaving (on and off loom), sewing, quilting, bead embroidery, crochet, knitting, felting, needle felting, wirewrap. I am also adept at hanging drywall, laying wood floors and basic cabinetry, plumbing and wiring. My husband says I have a short attention span. Reading through that list, starting to think he's right. I dabble in writing. I have no musical talent, cannot sing and my painting is frightening (some would say that about my singing too) though I'm a pretty good draftsman. I have a pretty green thumb and love playing in the dirt too. I think that's it.
I gave one of the scarves away this week but I'll post the other.

Couch offer still stands. Sorry to say, the lap dog's up to 120#. Good news, no blanket necessary when he's sharing the couch.

No worries, and good luck! (I'm in a similar panic place, I lost the barcodes for a show in a few weeks. Tearing apart my messy work area looking for them.

Not a great show, but profitable. I have one more show this year on the 16th, then taking a break to regroup until the spring. My ADD has kicked in and has me on a new spree of torch painting on copper and brass. I have to admit the combination of sawing and hammering metal combined with flame has a real visceral appeal....will post pics soon. If your workspace looks anything like mine, I wish you he best of luck on those barcodes.

I just got it! Am I supposed to wrap one of the cabs in the bunch, or can I use one from my stash?

Zorias In reply to DPBJewelry [2012-11-02 15:36:42 +0000 UTC]
Dusty,
Wonderful! You're supposed to take pics of what all you got, post them on the forum, then wrap one of the unwrapped cabs, keep the wrapped cab and any of the other loose cabochons you want and replace however many cabs you keep with new ones

Thank you very much. I started as a beadweaver and somehow evolved into this. It allows for much more immediate gratification than the weaving projects but still satisifies my tactile needs. I have a giant loom project hanging out in my craft room that I'm sure I'll drift back to eventually. Your work may inspire that sooner than I'd thought.

Nehemet In reply to DPBJewelry [2012-10-19 14:56:50 +0000 UTC]
Well, I'm not a loom beader myself, sorry I work in peyote stitch.

DPBJewelry In reply to Nehemet [2012-10-21 03:22:09 +0000 UTC]
I do both, depending on the size. When working with very large peyote pieces I worry about rubbing off the finish of certain beads. I learned that the hard way on my patchwork Santa.

Nehemet In reply to DPBJewelry [2012-10-21 19:22:38 +0000 UTC]
Yes, I tend to stay away from finishes that will rub off, for the same reason.
