# About me
I am an amateur photographer who likes to experiment. I've never had any kind of class or real instruction- I mostly take pictures for fun. My goal is simply to capture the world around me in a way that is pleasing to anyone who chooses to look.# Comments

No problem- love your photography. May I ask what processes/ setting you use to create such a vivid image?

On most of my stuff I use Photomatix Pro to do HDR (exposure blending).Β I try to keep it pretty subtle and just use the software to make sure I have details in my highlights and shadows.Β I then open the image in Gimp (free by the way) and adjust curves, sharpen, etc.Β

Wow, I was expecting something much more complex. I might have to experiment with HDR

HDR isn't always needed.Β If you shoot in areas with difficult lighting (harsh shadows/lights) HDR is a good way to capture all of the details.Β If lighting is more ideal, HDR isn't necessarily needed.Β If you are just looking to boost your colors, sharpness, etc, try out Photoshop or Gimp.Β Usually playing around with curves, levels, and color saturation are enough to make the colors really stand out in a photo.

Ok, I'll keep that in mind. I've always had a problem with making an image sharp enough. It only seems to happen in bright, outdoor light, and even then, it isn't what I'd like it to be. I'm still learning though.
