Lol, yeah that was a while ago wasn't it. That's alright, I haven't been on DA much lately 'cause my computer sucks. Seriously, it sucks balls. I have barely over a gig of memory in it and when I upgraded to the latest version of Norton...everything...slowed...to...a...crawl.

But I should be getting a new faster (much faster) computer next month. Then going online to check my email and stuff won't be such a pain in the arse.

Hon, with all due respect, ditch Norton and never look back. Not only is their software a greedy, invasive little sinkhole that will suck up all your resources, its not nearly as good as they'd have you believe.
If you want, note me an email addy and I'll send you a 'cleanup' list...there's no reason why you should have to put up with that. There are all manner of tweaks that will help things along, even with limited resources. My daughter's HP is older, running 512mb and XP (which I love as an OS) but with this,it clicks right along.
AVG is a good, solid, free program that you can customize and won't be nearly the pain Norton is.

Glad you're getting a new machine! It'll surely free up your other as a dependable backup once the housekeeping is done...knowledge is power!

*sigh* Aaah you're probably right, I should ditch Norton. The only reason I have it is because comcast offers it for free with their cable internet service. But this new version is just eating up all my ram.

I've used AVG before, it's what I used to have before Norton I believe. Don't remember having any problems with it.
So what's this 'cleanup' list u want to send me? Ah nvm, I'll send u a note and u can tell me then. (Lol, i'm getting lazy with my typing...2 much txting)

That's how you check for limb twist. if the tips don't line up, you have a warp. *crosses fingers for you* You also especially don't want any damage to those elegant little tips. Aha! The numbers were under the black tape my friend had wrapped around it (I don't know why he did that). Yup, it's 63" and then another long number and then it has 30+ written under that. Is that the draw strength?

Oh, and what pic are u talking about? I don't think I got that...did I? Hmmmm...

That should be it, yes...that number with the '+" behind it means it draws more than 30lb, depending on who is shooting it. Different folks have different draw lengths, and depending on what the factory standard for that one was, (usually somewhere between 24-28) you would need to add 5lb for every extra inch of draw length above that number to accommodate for your own. What are the numbers you found?

In the link to ebay, there's one in the group of pics (toward the bottom where he's looking down the length of the bow)...sorry, hon-I should have clarified!

The numbers that are written inbetween the bow length and the draw strength are: U-2022-E. It's handwritten, btw, all of the numbers. Oh, and it cleaned up very nicely with just some dawn and a sponge. There are no cracks or separation of the laminate...over all it looks pretty good, but I think one of the tips is a bit warped. It doesn't quite line up as straight as the other one.

You have to be VERY gentle, due to its age. Stablize it at the center handle in one hand...and grip the twisted limb solidly but very gently (not at the tip,) about 6-8" back and a tiny little bit at a time, repeatedly, 'rock' the limb back in the opposite direction from the warp until it lines up again. Work down from where you started, toward the handle, repeating the process. DO NOT use heat...that glue is too old. The heat from your hand will be enough. Let me know how it goes!

You know, it's really not as warped as I thought it was. The tips actually line up pretty well when you sight it, like in the picture. Over all this bow has held up pretty well considering I've had it stored in an outdoor storage closet. It wasn't exposed to the elements or anything...but it wasn't kept at room temp either. And we get pretty cold winters here.

Should I post the pics here on DA? Or just email them to ya? I took several pictures of different angles. I don't know if i want to post them all on DA. I don't know if very many ppl want to see pics of an old bow. They're not very artful pictures, lol.
