I'm so sorry for the giant troll I used to be.

I recently added a story that has some slight thematic overlaps with your Web Portal. It's roughly 2/3 as long as Web Portal (still pretty long by DA standards), but I'm hoping you'll have time to read it over and tell me what you think. (Not many people think or care about these sorts of things, so I don't expect many enthusiastic readers to stumple upon it.) Mainly I want to know if it's well-written / how it could be written better, and if the main message I'm trying to convey comes across as I intend.

Rarely look at DA. Link me if you want me to read it still.

Happy 7th DeviantArt birthday! Just letting you know that I still remember your incredibly insightful commentary, and I'm currently experimenting with new ways to accentuate shadows and reflections to add emphasis and contrast and make my pieces more immersive. Do you have anything new in the works?

Hello from 9 years in the future. You might be the only person that found my rambling and ellipses-laden trolling to be insightful. Thank you for all the support over the years that I ignored.

Wow, I haven't heard from you in years!Β I remember enjoying your artful picking-apart of art more than the art itself.Β Although I guess that had more thought going into it than some poetry, so the criticism could be considered an art in its own right.Β Perhaps you could start criticizing more well-known art or pop culture works for your future uploads?Β Just a thought.

You probably read this already, but apparently Shepard Fairey is running a contest here. Strange, after the debacle in the article to which you directed me earlier. (When I did a remake of the Mona Lisa in a different style, I made sure to credit Leonardo DaVinci just in case, even though the reference was obvious. ) Usually even the accusation of art theft or other lowly offense is enough to derail a career. I just thought it was funny when I saw his name after that.

I just decided to swing by and tell you about my latest piece, "Cloud Walker". I employed general asymmetry to the overall piece, and textures on the road, hearlights, chrome (actual reflections), and other things. I also want you to take note of the crop I did on the hood ornament, so that you can see a hint of it at the picture's edge, and you can see the rest of it in it's reflection.
Also, most importantly (to me), the subject stretches the imagination. My biggest concern is that it is so far outside the realm of what one would ordinarily see, that others might not get what it's supposed to be, especially since I'm only showing a relatively small portion of the subject.
So have I followed your advice in the way that you had in mind?

Yes, This is much better. I would, however, pull off a little from the bottom to get the headlights out of the center. 10-15% off the bottom and maybe 10-20% off the right, to again get the headlights out of the center. Also, the tighter the crop the bigger it will look.

I was reading your comments on a picture and I was astounded by your level of criticism; I think I'm even afraid of you! I had the same reaction after reading Poe's story "The Masque of the Red Death", because It was brilliant how the story was a complete allegory. Who would've thought that man was a genious? Anyway, you kick ass!

I forgot the name, but it's the photographer who posed naked. Yes, I do realize I am only 14, but I'm not looking at these in a bad way; please understand that. Moving on, do you know which one it is now?

hes ontop of the suitcase- I didn't see him jump off. You left various comments, it wasn't jsut one. It's not literally fear that I felt, just respect.

I just thought the conversation about the guy's dick was halarious, so I kept reding it all. I love the person who said that they'll have to watch him sleep or something and then check it themselves. Out of all the comments, your comments actually made sence.
And about that guy with 40 years of experiance, gee, you'd think by now he'd get it.

I got sick of art school after a year and a half, went on to Computer Science, and got sick of that after a year and a half. Finally graduated from UAT for game design.
Now I make good money as a web developer and interaction designer for Army.mil

you sound just like me. I wanted to be a vet, then a chief executive, and now I want to be an Ob/Gyn.
yay games! I only like to play rp games like fighter games and Zelda. What sucks is that my nintendo 64 broke. I wanted to keep it as memory but my mom threw it away while I was at school.

ya I was pissed. I don't think they even sell 64's anymore so I gave my games to my friend Ali. We're so obssesed with Zelda we counted the hours of the day until twilight Princess came out. What's ironic though is that I said "Fuck it" and got a PS3 so no Zelda for me.
That's awsome! I'll ask you next time I need to kill a boss or something.

You don't me, but i've read some of the comments you left for others, and i'm impresssed, your critism is like poetry, it's amazing. This might seem a bit akward but im writing a story, (thats on my journal", and well I really could use someone with skills like yours just to check the begining of my story. (I've haven't updated in about 3 months so 20 pages are missing from it). And thank you if you decide to take a peek into my story and offer my advice,
Joe

Or, I could get invited to their dumb convention, spend $50 on their book, $600 on their convention, which is a requirement to win. Along with thousands of others, and have a shot at their completely random contest. Everyone is a finalist. I entered once with this poem:
Poetry dot com
Scam if I ever saw one
This poem sucks ass
I was again, asked to be a part of their convention.
