So finally, I did it. After almost three years of work on this, I'm ready to upload it here: My own set of Magic: the Gathering cards based on Avatar - The Last Airbender.When I saw some Magic cards about Avatar on DeviantArt for the first time a few years ago, I had that idea. The idea that this great series deserves more than a few cards - it should have its own set.
There were - and still are - so many unique creatues and characters, so much stuff to use. So I started playing around with the Magic Set Editor. I searched the net for screenshots of Avatar Episodes. I sat down brwosing thousands of those screenshots for hours. And so, the set kept growing and growing. And, let me write it again, now it's done.

There are some people I have to thank at this point. First of all, those friends of mine whom I bothered again and again, asking for opinions, stealing their time they could have used for important stuff.
And each and everybody who works or did work on the Magic Set Editor. Without this fantastic tool, I never could have done it. So, the least I can do is ask you guys to check out their site:

For those of you who want to comment on these cards (and I really hope there'll be plenty of you ^^), I want to say this:
The last basic set I played was 4th edition. I don't have any grasp of what's underpowered and what's overpowered. I tried to use the Gatherer as a reference, but that will only get you so far.
And besides that, this set was made for fun. Not to be used in official tournaments (all legal problems aside).
Again, please keep these two things in mind.

Okay, took a long time to reply, because I had a few issues to catch up on... I was honestly afraid they killed her off (also, it says a lot about the series that I'd take that into consideration). I certainly don't like what Kitsune is doing to her, but for now, Alopex is still around. So, what did you mean by you miss her?Or did I miss the last issue and this was a major spoiler after all O.O?
P.S.: Yes, you really should draw more Alopex. Can't say that too often ^^.

Wow this is great. I have not looked over everything but amassing. A dual mana cost for some earth-benders would have been cool. I see them as both Green and Red in the MTG world. Even a kicker with red maybe.

Yes, it would have been. But I put some thought into it, and I don't really see them as red as in the meaning "the color of chaos and destruction". I know, red creates its mana from mountains and therfore from earth and stone, but that's imho the only real connection between Earthbenders and red.
But nonetheless, thank you for your interest in my work ^^.

Red is more than "chaos and destruction" it's also freedom, creativity and passion. I truly think earthbenders and red mages have other things in common that mountains. It is your set and I mean no disrespect you put a lot of time into it.
You given me some inspiration to try and make some cards.

Okay, maybe there are more red aspects in earthbenders than I saw, I admit that ^^. Anyhow, now it is too late, changing the colors now would overthrow the color-balancing I set for this set...
But that's probably the first time somebody said I inspired him to something. Even if that may have been an unimportant side note, this really means a lot to me

I was really wonderin how people would react to this set, and I'm glad I've already got some positive feedback.
By now, there are still a lot of cards to upload. I'll keep working, but I don't know if I can get it done today. Or rather, tonight, since it's currently about 11:30 here in Germany. And in lots of other countries too, I gues o.0.
