# About me

Hello! You seem to have stumbled across my profile somehow. Everyone calls me Dark, so please call me that. Feel free to PM me if you need anything.

I am not the normal kind of artist you will encounter often on DA. I am a base user, a colorist, if you will. I like to color bases and linearts for fun.
I try to be the model lineart user, and fight to keep this little alternative art form as respected as it should be.
Additionally, I'm a long time hobbyist Photoshop user for around 7 years. I like to edit pictures and have a good laugh. Most of those never make it to a site like this however, as the whole deal with image rights muddies the hobby a bit as an actual art form.

I am also the founder of Predator-Lines , a group for bases/linearts that I am very proud of. Feel free to visit, it's a great tool for a base user.

Here's an account for me learning to draw, that I'll hopefully actually use one day to do just that. Just got to figure out my drawing tablet.

Again, very late reply, sorry. There are actually a whole lot of base users on DA. When I first created Predator Lines (a group that collects bases in one place for ease of use) my goal was to try and bring those people together a bit more, and that went even further with Colorist Vanguard (a group where base users can show off their finished pieces.) The community for base users on DA is very fragmented and under appreciated as an art form, or at least it was when I was last active. But there are still ways to network with other base users if you know where to look. As previously mentioned, groups are a good start, and a lot of base users link their finished works in the comments on bases.

It's ok. And that's cool though my art skills have improved greatly I will still use free to use line arts or bases for vary light references and I plan to start making some free to use bases/line art myself some time soon

You're welcome! :D (Big Grin) I'm sure it'll do fine. The thing with lineart though, is that you shouldn't expect it to sell like hotcakes instantly. They usually sell over time, when people come across them and want to color them. A lot of people who make P2U bases don't get that, and never make them again because they think they're not selling well. Just submit them to as many lineart groups as possible and that should do the trick.

Sure, that's fine. Like I've said to others who have asked this before, it's more of a thank you than anything, in no way should you think that you are bound to the role.
But, I would appreciate it if you told me how it messes with how you submit things. If that means there's a problem then I'll need to know so I can fix it.

Oh I'm rarely on DA any more. This account is exclusively for dumping linearts/stock on. I just came on to post a lineart and noticed it :) (Smile)
When we're set up as contributors it makes it so we can submit directly to the group and bypass our own galleries. The downfall to that is if you want to submit anything that you've uploaded to your personal account, you have to click to get into the gallery, then click the submit to gallery button from there and chose pre-existing deviation. By clicking the big gallery button that shows up on the main page, it'll pop up like how you upload things to your regular account.
Wonderful feature if the group is yours- not so fun for all members. For people who just want to submit to your group exclusively, it's also a nice feature. So you can actually just post a journal (for those watching journals) asking who wants to submit directly to the group and who does not, or wait for people to spam you asking why they're randomly in that position XD

I don't submit to groups often apart from my own, so that sounds really confusing to me if I'm honest. But I think I get the gist of it anyway. Honestly though I haven't appointed a contributor in ages, since the group has gotten bigger it's gotten harder to notice who to promote. I'll have to rethink how the role works in the group for the time being I guess. Thanks for the explanation! :D (Big Grin)
