It has been a while since I'd read it, but I remember it vividly.
Of all the fnaf fan-fiction I came across it has to be my absolute favorite!
It was an inspiration to say the least and practically got me back into the fandom/
helped me up up to the world of Fnaf fan-fiction (the good and the bad...)

Thank you so much! It's always nice to meet people who've enjoyed my writing c: Fnaf was by far one of the coolest fandoms I've been in to date with all of its interesting mysteries and ongoing story--I'm probably wayyyyy out of date with where it's at now, but I still love the plot I had going with that old fanfiction so it's what I'd stick with if I have a chance to continue it in the future.

But either way, I'm super humbled, thank you!

Normally I'd say half-yes, if only because it seems to be super easy for me nowadays to jump from one fandom to another, especially when I have a long-running fic in the fandom (of which I only have three in all honesty: two for Star Wars and Pop Goes the Weasel for Fnaf).

I've actually been debating on jumping back into PGtW for a little while now! Though I'm not all that interested in making that fic lore-friendly anymore, I think that was the biggest thing holding me back when I initially stopped writing it. Regardless, I ramble, but honestly hearing the feedback from a reader always does make me want to continue writing one those longer fics--it means a lot to a writer to know someone's enjoying them so much!

Honestly I love jumping from fandom to fandom too,
but I'll get stuck in an obsession stage with one or two fandoms for up to years
before fully getting out of it and moving on to something new.
it just kind of depends on whether or not there is enough going on to keep
me interested for a while I think. Or enough I can do with it.

I would love to read more if you do continue it x3, I have to admit I haven't
yet read any of your other fics, though I'm not a Star Wars fan (For shame! I know lol)
I might get a bit lost reading the other two.

I don't honestly care about how "canon" something is when it comes to FNaF
(if you want Miketrap, Springtrap or have Afton or someone else being your purple guy fine by me!)
I actually enjoy the creative concepts people can come up with taking bits and
pieces of lore from each game and fitting it to work however they please 
in their story. XD Slap the name "AU" on it and ship it out and I'm game!

(I actually prefer it to the people trying super hard to make everything super canon,
if only because you can kind of tell how they're struggling to keep everything in the
realm of believability without considering the fact that the canon universe doesn't
actually make that much sense to start with. Pfff

(P.S. Is it ok if I ask one more thing? When you wrote PGtW I was impressed
by how absolutely gender neutral it was! Generally, even when writers
try to make the character gender neutral, they'll slip up here or there
and add in some cues that let the reader know this was written from a
male or female perspective.

You were very keen on keeping this from leaning too much in either direction
which I greatly applaud. I'll admit, I imagined a guy when reading it though, at first,
then imagined a girl protag when re-reading it.

So my question is: Were you writing it leaning more toward a male or female perspective?
Who did you have in mind for the protagonist, or did you kind of envision yourself when writing it
and just went with the flow of what you would do?

No answer would deter from the greatness of the work!! I'm just curious XD

I also found someone on AO3 who wrote an extra chapter to your work, a fan-chapter
and it was quite obvious they imagined a female protagonist when I read that XD
I just thought that might be funny to mention

Finally, I have to say I just loved how you ended both of the chapters so nicely!!
It's a nice tough to have something that isn't complete, feel complete, so in case you
couldn't get back to it, you'd at least have that little bit of a semi-satisfying ending 
to leave with which I personally love x3

Don't worry at all about the length of the reply or any rambling, I'm honestly quite pleasantly humbled by the curiosity--especially stemming from a fanfiction I was always worried wasn't overly popular (or at least what I perceived as such).

Right now I suppose I'm sortof in-between any major fandoms, but my boyfriend has been marathoning Fallout New Vegas over the last couple weeks and I'm quite the fan of that game! Joshua Graham is my personal favorite character from it, and the featured of my most recent reader-insert oneshot. Otherwise I can't really slap any particular fandom I'm into at the moment, mostly bouncing around, but talking about FnaF sure makes me wanna go re-watch Markiplier's series on the game (it's actually how I originally found and got into it when the first one came out!).

If you're a fan of reader-inserts, that's actually like, 90% of all the work I have on AO3, again with a huuuuge portion of them oneshots since I can't keep a chaptered fic going to save my life (usually).

I quite agree with you with fans and their interpretation of the canon! The last media I remember watching was Sister Location, and I've at least heard that the new novels have spun the canon around a bit--I love a lot of the fanwork I've seen of the series regardless of how well its connected to canon. It's one of the main reasons I've taken a lot of creative liberties with the characters and put my own spin on them--it's a lot more fun!

Writing gender-neutral characters in reader-inserts can seem a bit difficult, but it's not impossible as long as you keep an eye on how you're writing them! For the most part, all you need to do is stick to gender-neutral pronouns and be cognizant of how you write them (not falling into gender stereotypes largely) but otherwise you'd be surprised how much a reader can get from an experience on personal assumption alone! You read the fic with a male in mind, so therefore everything you read had nothing to reject that the character was a male, and vice-versa. I'm actually working on a personal project about writing reader-inserts since apparently, I've been writing them for almost five years, which is interesting to think about--the ongoing draft is here if you wanna check it out!

But for me, I always usually envision a male with my work, but that's mostly because I'm a trans male and I naturally see myself in the place of the reader character, and that can often be helpful in some situations when it comes to gender stereotypes and the like.

I always get nervous about writing something for me, and second person is really difficult to stick to
so it makes me wanna just come up with some rando- character to put there, but then I know 
it'd be "blah x oc" instead and people tend to hate those XD Or at least I think they do,
I personally love 'em/ don't really care either way. If you can make me care about your main
character and they're believable enough, then hell yeah I'm interested any way!

(Ironically so bad into this fandom I've read Silver Eyes and though I kinda hated the book,
I'm probably going to read The Twisted Ones... just so I can read The Fourth Closet and be done with it
XD hopefully Scott's ghost writer won't be forced to write more... //shot... at least now I can tell
my friends who certain characters are that have been turned into Pop dolls and what little significance they 
actually have in the books... such as Theodore (aka: the only other purple Bonnie in existence)

If you would ever like some feedback or pointers, I'd be more than happy to help c: it's honestly hilarious that I've gotten to a point to be able to call that category of writing my specialty, but I love to help other writers with the experience I've gotten from it all the same!

You're not the only one who feels like that! Internet culture is only just getting to a point were, majority-wise, reader-inserts and self-insertion are a bit more common and more widely accepted in most fandoms (or at least I've been creating so much content like that over the years I've pushed the critics clear out of my internet space). The best thing that I can say is to just go for it! The more you write, the better and more confident you become with it.

I honestly haven't even started on the books, but I've heard good enough things that I'd love to get a taste of the fandom from a media form that wasn't a game. I do enjoy how Scott is branching out for his franchise, he's come a long way since making the first game!

XD Hey it's about time, the fan-fiction world
started taking second-person seriously,
after all it's like DnD or choose your adventure books
(just... you know without as many choices involved XD but still.)

The books are... alright, I've been taking some writing lessons
on Skillshare and some of the basics of what I've learned so far
have not been followed by the first book The Silver Eyes.
Ex: "Make your reader like your protagonist" (I didn't give a sh*t about Charlie lD)
or "Describe your protagonist by their most defining features"
(all I know about Charlie is that she is 17 and has brown hair and brown eyes and was Henry's daughter)
(Actually Henry is dead from beginning to end and I care more about him than anyone else in this book...
my second favorite character being Afton himself lD... if only because he is fun to read...)
I do recommend giving the books a shot and I am glad he is branching out... I just kinda wish his ghost
writer knew the first thing about writing interesting characters lD.... ALSO it takes 3/4 through the book
before anything supernatural actually happens... so you get to read about a bunch of reminiscing teens
goofing off in the pizzeria for a day or two... before anything remotely interesting happens...
the only thing you learn about the teens is they're all 17, one wants to be a writer, and one has her life together
more than anyone else... and one apparently pulls a lot of pranks on people though you never actually see
him pull any pranks... he mouths off to Afton when he's about to get killed by him and it is the best thing in the book.
AFTON AKA: Purple Guy is the second best thing in the book! (I'm supposed to hate this guy... right? Right?)

XD it was a fun ride anyway... I am only disappointed that we didn't get to
A: Learn anything about the other
children who died, not even their names...
B: Find out why so much focus was placed on Foxy....
(seriously the opening starts with Foxy attacking Charlie... but really he's not important at all wtf?)
C: Learn anything about the teens who we spend most of our time in the book reading about...

I am glad we get to learn about Henry who was the primary creator of the animatronics,
including the stupid springlock suits (Worst idea ever)
I tried to stay away from spoilers but there isn't enough to really spoil, but I still recommend the read!

It might help you if you ever do go back and watch Markiplier's run of FNAF 6 XD 
Fnaf 6 is free btw though if you wanted to play it yourself and it inspired me to create DreamLand in a way XD
So I recommend giving that game a shot, it's great!

Thank you for the synopsis! I'll have to keep the books on my list when I have the extra monies to get them--I'd love to read them at least once!

Shows now out-of-the-loop I am, I didn't even realize another game had come out, but I'll definitely give it a look! Knowing Markiplier, I'm sure watching him play will be all the entertaining regardless, but it's always nice to know that the game is free.

XD Dang! Yeah, it's called Freddy Fazbear Pizzeria Simulator, and it's a lot of fun, and chuck full of Lore
I'll admit, I wasn't satisfied with Markiplier playing it this round... and had to play it myself, if only
because I wasn't happy with some of the decisions he made and how he acted some of the time. 
XD but totally check it out, Oooof I'm assuming you haven't heard about the buzz on Ultimate Custom Night then?
