a nice start...

"Uninstall" is a great piece of art, and the tag line pushes the concept up several notches...

I think ALL of us have wanted to "Uninstall" certain persons from our lives at one time or other, lol... I know I have !

Thank you

Yeah, its definitely inspired by real situation that I managed to blunder myself into recently.. glad to know I'm not the only one!!

well, I don't wanna drop any of my own "issues" on anyone else (EVER again!), but this catches me at a VERY appropriate point in my so-called life... I'm currently finding myself "Uninstall"-ing a LOT of people and situations...

-not an easy thing to do, but in my case, necessary...

anyway, this image brought a lil bit of light back into what id currently a VERY dark existence...
you have NO idea how grateful I am for art in general, and practitioners of the craft, like you.

I'm very happy that this work caught at least an aspect on life as I hoped to, and don't worry I'm sure the phase will pass perhaps it would had been done by the time I finish another work!! ^^
But hey thanks!! Without an audience, there would be one less important reason for art, too, as I personally enjoy bringing other people's lives into my work, as my own world is definitely not big enough to inspire all that I wish to do.

wow... I like your attitude, young Lady !

altogether well said... I agree, Art has little function or purpose without audience...
also, bringing "life" into the work is (I think) essential, even for the most abstract of concepts...
otherwise, how can one connect with an audience?

Me, I'm a bit more "process-oriented"...
Personally, I find the biggest enjoyment of "the craft" comes from collaborative "brainstorming" ...
I love the power of the creative "gestalt"...

novectors In reply to novectors [2012-04-01 14:18:49 +0000 UTC]

understood... Painting tends to be a bit more personal than "design", so much less likely to involve more than one mind in the process...
I often find myself wishing for another creator to "bounce" things off of...

in terms of art, the "gestalt" process really does live up to its "layman's definition"
(the whole becomes greater than the sum of the parts)...
it's a wonderful experience, when it comes together, and should be utilized if at all possible, whenever possible.

this is not to say that a solo act is inferior; make no mistake, I mean NO criticism of your work or processes...
I just went off on a tangent, thinking of what I liked best about creating art...

No worries, its fun to discover different ways of doing things as I'm still in the experimentation stage myself
I'll think about that!! Thanks for sharing!!

that's part of what I'm 'here" for, to do the Yoda-thing and "pass on what (I) have learned"...

final thoughts on "Brainstorming"...
while a good "gestalt" of artistic minds is a wonderful thing, I've found one OTHER source of input
which can work wonders for an artist...

Children can be a miraculous influence on an artists perceptions...
they tend to be far less cluttered, and frankly, less tainted in their perceptual and emotional processes,
thus they are more open (accessible, available) to ideas, and far more honest about interpreting the world around us...

Mind you, this distinction becomes much more obvious as we age, and certainly comes to a point when we become parents ourselves, but ANY healthy, thriving child can open door for us, if we but try to see thru their eyes for a moment...

'nuff said!

they will see and feel things differently than you do, so talk "art" with them whenever you can !

Indeed, children are wonderful subjects and inspiration for artwork. I found it a pity that I missed that stage of developing more than I could, as it was only barely 10 years ago, but what's lost is lost.
I would try harder to see through the child's eye to make up for lost time though, I'm lucky to have many kid cousins!!

I see, that's another way of doing things that I'd never really tried before yet..
Other than some problem-solving situations that crop up, or when I don't know how to present an idea, I hardly do brainstorms in paintings.. I guess I'm more of a "freeflow" person
That is, until clients throw problems at me, that is usually tough.
