Thank you for adding those pieces to your Favorites, Ari. "Deadly Jelly" was especially fun to create!

I really liked that one a lot. Those jelly monsters are really cute! I Always wanted to draw one that someone mistook for actual jelly, and so it wants to get revenge for being spread on a piece of toast. >u< I think that'd be adorable! I always liked the Flan creatures from Final Fantasy that were based on the same basic concept of the jellies. I look forward to looking through more of your work when I have the time again. ^u^

Deadly Jelly...on toast? Hahahahaha! *smile* Funny...and totally disgusting at the same time. Attacked from within! I have always thought that a gelatinous being is one of the more realistic concepts for creature. I had a lot of fun with 'Deadly Jelly'. Glad you like it, Ari!

^u^ I thought so too! And I agree! Gelatinous lifeforms are so realistic because they do technically exist, just on a much smaller scale. It's like making an amoeba gigantic basically. The ones that breed through division are also very spot on. Definitely a worst nightmare for someone with germophobia, but I really just think they are kinda cute and jiggly.

Arianna! Thank you for adding "Slissik: Fleshcrafter" and "Lord Andrus" to your Favorites. The 'Andrus' piece is an oldie, but 'Slissik' is recent. Glad you like them!

I'll be checking out more of your gallery soon as well. My time on deviant art is pretty limited for now due to some technical difficulties with my computer. I look forward to checking out more of your stuff, so look forward to more faves!

Well I hope you get your technical difficulties ironed out. *smile* I look forward to future artistic discussions. One of the big perks of DA. Conversation and interaction!

Agreed! It would be nice, though my little computer is very outdated. It has everything I need for my artwork on it though, so I just can't bear to part with it and trying to upgrade the operating systems would take away a lot of the functionality of the stylus with many of my programs. : /

Hmmm. That IS a bit of a quandry, Arianna. Can't sacrifice your ability to create simply for the sake of easy conversation. So all we can do is muddle through in whatever way possible. *smile* Vive la creativity!

No doubt...! I'm borrowing my boyfriend's laptop since he usually only uses his desktop computer, so perhaps that'll make being online a lot easier. At the very least, it means I don't have to lose my artsy stuff, so I'm thankful regardless. :3

Are there any anatomy books in particular I should look out for? I want to work more in depth with the muscle groups and bone structures, but most of what I have right now is basics.

caesar120 In reply to DeathAngel67 [2015-02-11 18:27:15 +0000 UTC]
Arianna, the best anatomy book I ever used was...technically...NOT a book produced for artists. It was entitled "Strength Training Anatomy" by Frederic Delavier. The book not only beautifully and clearly illustrates the anatomical structures, but also shows how each system interacts. Skeletal to muscule...and muscle to muscle. It is important to know how each muscle works and the function it performs. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Alright, I'll see if I can find myself a copy! Which edition would you recommend out of the three? I know newer doesn't always mean better, so I'd like to know your thoughts on this.

I have the first edition, which I purchased...hmmm....in the late 90's, I think. I haven't used it in quite awhile...but I will try to locate it...review it...and let you know if I think the newer versions might hold more informational value.

Well, Arianna, I wasn't able to find my copy. I may have loaned it to another artist years ago. Sssso...my advice to you is this: go ahead and get the newest version. I really hope you find the book to be helpful. If I can be of any further assistance...you know where to find me!

A request? Hmmm...that's a good idea, Arianna. *smile* I will give it some thought and see what kind of challenge I can come up with for you!

Okay, Arianna...I have looked through your Gallery for inspiration, and here is the Challenge I've come up with: the image includes you and Rolo. *smile* I see Rolo depicted as a much larger lizard. Perhaps dragon-size (twenty-five feet head-to-tail). You are depicted as a fantasy version of yourself (think Dungeons and Dragons). Rolo's head and chest are uplifted proudly...a tattered/torn knightly standard hanging from his mouth (as if he has just defeated/chased-off a group of knights). You are affectionately scratching under his chin. Your hero!! *smile* What do you think?

Ah! That sounds like fun! Rolo is super proud already and it always seems like he thinks he's some kind of prince! XD And he does love his chin scratches very much! I've done up a concept outline already, as I typed this reply. I'll do my best not to let you down!
