My art is a hobby, at best, but unlike you I am open for critiques and happy to get suggestions to improve. I'm 20, soon to be senior of University of Wisconsin River Falls with a major in Comm Studies and Journalism. Art is not my forte. I know that. And I seek improvement. If got the comments and critiques that you got, I would be OVERJOYED. I would love it.

Take a lesson from me, kiddo. When you develop the cognitive skills to be able to handle a little criticism yourself, then get back to me. But saying one thing through your keyboard, and another by using 25% of your last message to validate yourself as a worth while human being is pretty low. The reason my profile is filled with negative messages is because they fell for my prank link. As you can see, a few are actually really good sports about it. But let's get back to the topic on hand, mm?
Kidate and I never said that her animation sucked or that it was bad. We made no negative remarks whatsoever about it. This is an art site, critiques should be expected if not welcomed unless the artist states otherwise. She did not, so we were free to voice our opinion. If she didn't want suggestions or critiques then she should have stated so in her artist notes. But, like I said, she didn't so Kidate, myself and a few others were free to give the suggestion that she should animate the bunny eating the carrot. Instead of being mature and going "Hmm...I'll try that" or even "I'll think about it, thanks for the suggestion." she acted like a child and said "It's my first time get off my back waaaahhhh!" If anything, she could make another animation of the bunny eating the carrot. Obviously the animation she has is popular as it is, why not make another of the bunny eating the carrot in a cute manner and get more popular? I know I would. Since this was her first animation, I thought she would be more open to suggestions and critiques, especially if she is looking to do more animated deviations, so her response was a shock and somewhat disappointing.
But looking at her artist's notes, she has gotten the suggestions, but she hasn't reacted to them in a professional manner, which is rather disappointing in my opinion and I'm quite offended that she blocked me so quickly when I was far from rude or impolite. I've seen her on DA quite a bit and I've always debated in buying some of her stuff, but seeing her reactions to some rather nice suggestions (although repeated by other users in a far more rude manner, I'll agree) it's rather disappointing to see.

So, since you accused me earlier of being some other random person, maybe this is you? Or someone you put up to it. But I digress...
Who knows why people react to things the way they do. She reacts to critiques all the time with no issues, even comments far worse than yours or others left on this one. Who's to say it wasn't the constant replies over and over that rubbed her the wrong way.
Bottom line, is that if you can stand up for people's right to critique, than you cannot also deny people the right's to react freely to each individual comment the way they feel. Maybe you and your friend should re-read some of your comments and ask yourself why you come off as slightly rude/put off ish.

She received many comments regarding the white outline she could not get rid of, and took those critiques and is using them to make another animation as I type this. So your argument that she reacted to ALL the critiques negatively (if that is what you are suggesting) is unfounded and incorrect.
As I told your friend, any comment which begins or ends with "I don't know why this is on the front page" loses all validity as soon as those words are typed. They come from the fingers of a jealous artist who feels they could do better and simply refuse not to. If you are this person, or defend this person, then any type of reason in your brain would suggest to you why this would upset any artist. It is questioning the artists skill, and insulting their watchers by suggesting they are not correct in appreciating what they do.
So your arguments are that she reacted to all critique in a negative light, which she did not. And that your/your friends comments were not rude...when I assure you one of them was, and one of them was backing up a rude comments. Not a good foot to start off on when trying to give an opinion on something.

No that's not me. I'm not one to make alt accounts and the reason I accused you is because your faves are nothing but MoogleGurl's works with a few others, but mostly MoogleGurl's.
It could be, but she still could have taken it in stride. With quite a popular following, it really shouldn't have bothered her as much as it did.
She could have reacted better, in my opinion. It didn't warrant a block in my opinion but like you said different people react differently.
In regards as to "why is this on the front page" I was not one of those people. I was defending Kidate's suggestion and trying to help clarify and Kidate's comment was not meant as a personal attack and was simply a suggestion. That's all I was doing. I don't personally care what is or isn't on the front page, that wasn't why I was there or why I commented.
Like I said, I personally don't care what gets on the front page. I'm not so much of an art snob to care about it (unless it was a set of stick people) but people like what people like, it doesn't bother me. The bunny and the animation was cute in general. I'm not doubting that and yes, it's better than what I can do. I never questioned as to why it was on the front page. It's on the front page because the masses like it and I'm fine with that.
I barely know Kidate, if that's who you're talking about, and I have no idea who these other "friends" are. I lurk a group call Butthurt Brigade which directed me to MoogleGurl's animation. Which probably directed the other commentators, but I'm far from being friends with them.

In regards to the front page comments, trust me...I don't get half the things she posts go on the front page and I've been with her for 6 years.
I don't think what you said per say warranted a block, but I think the "I don't get why this is on the front page" comment started the snowball effect, if you will. Everything from that point on was going to become irritating.

When critiques are followed before, or after...something along the lines of; "How did this get on the front page". It means jealousy, plain and simple. Which is why it's so easy to call out hypocrisy on.
Things like this are the best thing on DA? Fuck no. A first time animation of a bunny and a carrot is no where near front page worthy.
