Well, I had to send ya that. You were my first Watcher, and that and something key that you said about my comic were very inspirational. Well, there were 4 people who Watched me before that, but one of them was just a Watch back my first year, the second was an icon account almost exactly a year later, the third was a person I met on YouTube who Watched me when I only had one deviation, and the 4th was "CheapPageViews". So you were the first real one.

Believe it or not, I'm still thinking about Todd VS Dave. Are you?
I realized I'd need to prepare the story in advance because Dave is so smart, so I started trying to reach out to writers for advice on how to write a character smarter than me. And by smarter than me, I wasn't saying I'm the smartest almost. I mean smarter than you. Wait, that didn't come out nicely either, lol. Just messing around
But I did go to a writer for advice, and she was so excited about helping me she wrote all of this!
Oh, and I guess I should tell you now. The Todd VS Dave pages that are currently online? Those are going into Scraps because I am so serious about getting this comic right that I'm going to start all over and redo all those pages! I have to finish all my other comics first though, before I'll be ready.

Hi!
I had wanted to ask you about Dave VS Todd before, but I really wanted to wait until I had more comics done before I asked.
I read everything you wrote about Dave, asked you a question or two, tried to draw as much information as possible about him from looking at pictures instead of words, and of course read every page of your contest entries. Even those Scrap pages for Dave VS Todd you made when we were sending Scraps back and forth that one time. That was cool. I read Roskvape's tutorial, and I watched every episode of Death Note so I could make Dave's character as smart as possible and as correct in character as I could get to work.
Well, I missed a few episodes of Death Note, toward the beginning and end, but I watched the whole series
But yeah, I wanted to draw more comics first because I wanted to give you as much information on Todd's character to work with as possible, which is not necessarily more comics as it is, more situations. I don't have all the different kinds of situations I wanted to do covered yet! Todd VS The Monsters definitely needs finishing so I can get that in the books. I'm almost there with it too... I want you to be able to get Todd's personality and fighting right, so I need to show more of it.
Oh yeah, and if you want to make Dave VS Todd the most epic comic you ever made, I don't blame you, because Todd VS Dave is actually going to be a series. I can't release a 400 page comic as just one comic, can I? Can I? o.o There's just so much I want to put into it...

Speaking of flipping through work when you get the chance, Todd VS Lukian finally got updated like I said! And if you get the chance, you should check out Lukian's creator's: B.A. Stadium first, because I parody it and reference it too.
I could have had the comic updated sooner, but there was a power outage, a flash flood, and a need for sleep I had to contend with...

Did you finally see the color animation I made for ya?
I kind of miss the thought out comments you used to make before. Were it not for those back when I was drawing the Monsters comic back at the beginning of the contest, I don't think I would have had the motivation and drive to go through to the end.
I remember your poem about being a pretty piece of glass, so I take that as your explanation for you not living on dA like I do- and I also remember the poem about the bad things human beings do- so I know you're a sophisticated person with stuff to do. BUT I also remember that super awesome pair of sketches you did for Todd and Dave! So I was kind of looking forward to a comment or two, and an answer to the question I asked you about Dave. I still have incredible plans for Todd VS Dave, and I've gotten some distractions in life out of the way so I can move forward in art now.

Hi there! Long time no see, I'm sorry for that. I just saw the finished animation, and it was awesome ^^ I especially like how Todd is realistically curled up inside the box before he stands up 
You're correct, I have lots of other stuff going on beside DA, but every now and then I check in to keep track of your progress ^^ I do draw sometimes too, but usually just a few sketches that I don't care to scan. Lately I've been thinking of getting to know my tablet a bit better though, so maybe there will be some digital drawings soon
As for comments, well... I'm not usually the commenting type of guy, and just repeating the word Awesome on every page isn't really my style ^^' But that's usually what I think when I see your work ^^
Instead I like to look at artworks several times before trying to find something appropriate to say. When the time comes and I'm back to drawing/uploading regularly I'll probably have more thoughtful comments for you
About your question, let me think about it. It would definitely depend on what kind of situation he's in, if it's not too seriuos he could just lie about losing it, without even flinching, and walk right in as if he belonged there. He wouldn't mind stealing an item either, since he doesn't really care for other people (he'd think they're the stupid ones for letting it be stolen). As for other lies, he would definitely not say something that could be easily checked or contradictive, he would chose a very plausible story and stick to it all the way through. He does know his way around the world, so thinking something up on the spot wouldn't be so hard for him.
He does have a weakness though. Pride, he wouldnn't really like to pose as someone in a social position lower than his own. And since he's supposed to be a famous popstar that excludes a lot of possibilities ^^'
Is that answer enough, or do you have a more specific question?

Wow. It's flattering you said you'd be repeating the word awesome all the time looking at my work. And it's also great that you don't just look at each page and say "awesome" and keep going, because I prefer slightly long or more thought out comments.
I really need to get to having more work online so people who check up from time to time will have more to see. And not just here, but in other things and places too. The more I have to show for my time, the better I feel. Let's see if I can have both Todd VS Rei Sekai and Todd VS The Monsters done, say, ten days from now? A week would be really awesome, but even two weeks would be good, considering my usual pace.

Hmm. If you have more information you would want to add about what Dave would do in the badge situation, you could add it, but I think that's a good enough answer right there. I can work with that! That's actually quite useful and idea-stimulating.
I can't wait 'till I get back to Todd VS Dave. The Monster's comic is nearing completion, but before I can add anything to the VS Kim comic than the inking I did I have to finish this favor comic for IT's turning out great and will be done soon. I still have so much planned. I love art.

I've been through the Todd vs Monsters plenty of times now, trying to find out if it's changed or not. I don't know ^^' Which could definitely mean that you've done a good job in making it like the original ^^

The thing that stops me from losing sleep when drawing every day is that I don't draw well when I'm sleepy! I'll look at the product in the morning and it will just look weird.
On the Monsters page where the monster targets Todd's shin the style of the monsters changed a bit because I started back up on that page. Especially the thin monster, but his style's been evolving since the first page, so maybe he doesn't count.
I like what you said. It's great making things different. Who wants to read an ORDINARY scenario about a hero, a monster and a library book?

I was thinking it might be like that for me with the Monsters comic later on, so I tried it for the second half. Got mixed results, and I wanted results that were consistent. And crappy, lol. And fast. Didn't get 'em. Plus, when I got to the mind game part I needed to be awake to think all that stuff through and up, so... yeah.

Huh? I didn't react to it at all actually ^^' I mean, they're both fighters, and this is when they make first contact in battle. The head/face is definitely an often desired target, so yeah... The drawback I think of is that if you punch the face it's hard to see her reaction since her face is covered, meaning it could be more humorous if the hit had landed elsewhere.
Sorry if that makes me sound insensitive ^^' I just don't usually think much about gender differences.

That's exactly what I was thinking and what I was going for when I made these pages!
I make equal opportunity, gender-neutral comics. I also think about video games a lot, and women get beat up by men in video games all the time. Especially fighting games. How many times has Ken nailed Chun Li with a Shoryuken Punch? Who knows?!
Since International Women's Day had passed recently (You may have noticed the date on my Journal and how it says I've been reading feminist blogs) I got a minor idea. I envisioned Todd being captured by The League of Feminists, and he's on trial on charges of sexism. He has to prove that he treats women equally, and calls up that panel of him hitting Rei Sekai in the face! That proves it to them, and he is eventually acquitted. The first man to walk out of the League of Feminists' Headquarters with both his life and his masculinity still intact XD . BUT ... I don't think I will ever make a comic like that ever.

I try to draw every day, so I draw most days. I just don't draw enough of the day, because I get too easily distracted by things like work, relatives, and videogames. I really want to get through Todd VS The Monsters now though to move on.
What do you think of what that comic has become? The one that inspired you to inspire me? The second half of the Monsters Comic I tried to do in the same style as before, and I tried to do it fast, but I didn't do it fast enough. But the general humor part that made that one so nice is over, and I just finished the dialogue part, so now it's time for the action. Action as I intended it. But yeah, when I picked the Todd V Monsters comic back up, did it get better or worse?

Don't know if you know, but I put up three new pages of Todd VS The Monsters, and it's some pretty funny stuff. I did it in the original style, so that meant flying through the art and not planning anything, as well as a bunch of other stuff, and it was fun to draw so crappily actually and not plan anything at all. I didn't have fun with the first new page, but then the other two, it just keeps getting funner.

Guess what? I'm gonna give you a little more info on Todd you could use.
What does that mean? It means I'm finally going to finish Todd VS The Monsters! I'm going to continue through it in the same style I used for it before. That means no lining up the panels, no using a ruler or references, no color or shading or backgrounds, and I won't plan out any page layouts, so they'll be a bit confusing. All of that means I can go through it quickly, and it's important I do that and that I do it now, before my skill level improves any more. It was my first comic, and it would be too inconsistent if I did it like I did Todd VS Dave now. I'm going to make it an exercise in high-speed comedy.
I also referenced parts of it in Todd VS Lukian that I hadn't gotten to yet, and I'll want to do the same in Todd VS Dave, so that means I need to get to those parts!
I'm going to post a page of that as soon as I get finished playing Skyrim! Well, I'll start drawing the page anyways...

I'm halfway done with a new page of it. Man that comic can be made fast! I want to finish it in the same style I started it in. I had to take so many steps backward with my drawing skills, so this stuff will be practice throwing pages out as fast as I can!
Sadly, I think the funniest part of the comic was already over. The place I stopped was the place where the focus shifted to action, and at the time I was a little fuzzy on how I'd proceed. For the fights with Kim and Lukian- and Dave!- I had a clear ideas of where I wanted to go next, but in the first comic I didn't so I took some crappy notes. Plus those were the first comic creation notes I'd ever taken, so they were bad, but useful.
Look for the new pages on Tuesday.
Then I can get started on Todd's Victory dance and finishing Todd VS Kim! You knew I was going to finish that, and finishing that one will be a lot more work! And a lot funnier I think!

Last note on pushing you in the contest. Judging is starting! My work is far from done, but the entire story is almost completely intact so I was able to submit it and have it show everything and all make sense. I'm pretty sure from the widget on my page that Loveless has already seen it...
