Hi - I looked through your work. I'm not sure what advice I can give you. Alot of people have made alot of fame from creating shots like yours. Random, artistic and creative emotive photographs that reveal true human nature. They are far more important than product shots! You should be very, very proud! You remind me of both Richard Avedon and Sindy Sherman. You should look them up! Although books would be so expensive!

much thanks for taking the time to look through my pictures!
i first thought that i wanted to shoot fashion, but, after a while, i saw that they were so empty, so i switched to trying to capture a feeling, with serious meaning behind it. i'm very awkward when it comes to shooting people as well. i think if i can overcome that my ideas would flow through much easier. i've researched a few photographers like henri cartier bresson, ian maceachern, and steve mccurry. i've heard about richard avedon and seen a few of stuff at the museum, i liked it a lot. i heard that he doesn't talk during any shoot. how he does it i don't know. to be able to capture something so incredibly amazing, without speaking a word and making the person being photographed feel a bit of awkwardness. that, takes skill. i can't afford to buy books but i spend most of my free times are the library or bookstore. books > internet.

Interesting - Avedon talks like Tarentino talks about his movies! It's so passionate! Well, he said he uses large format (5x4" negative) cameras so he can interract with his subject without hiding behind the lens - this would imply that he actually goes out of his way to talk to the subject so I don't know if your fact is true! Cartier-Bresson was brilliant at capturing every day trivialities - however he has been copied so much and life simply isn't that beautiful anymore, so it's difficult to use him as a reference. You might want to search for some Don McCullin work - he does life story portraits, they are very emotional.
Fashion is empty - I agree. It is hard to shoot when you look at alot of world issue documentory photography. Impossible infact!

Sort of a combination of both. I generally takes pictures of my friends so I don't charge them, but lately I've been getting a lot of interest from other people so I am starting to charge for shoots. I'm actually starting a new shoot this week with a friend of a friend. I'm pretty excited
