This page is a WIP.Hello thank you for taking the time to drop by my account
I’d like to start by introducing myself as Jesse, I don’t want to call myself an artist or a writer, more or less just a guy with an interest in drawing and writing as a hobby.
I’m mostly using this account as a platform for a story I’m working on and to upload random art I do. This story I’m working on, I’m trying to keep the details of the plot and major characters discreet but this world it’s set in is something I find fascinating enough that I’d like to share through drawings I do for fun and just to improve my style overall. I’m not exactly sure what I’d like to call this story I’m writing, but I would like to call this little art series “Shattered America”
The world of Shattered America is a bleak alternate reality where the United States broke into three separate countries early in it’s existence, and the ramifications around the world that would follow suit.
It’s hard for me to pinpoint an exact inspiration, but I find it in a number of things I’ve enjoyed growing up like random movies, video games, stories, a love for history, early 20th century and wild west aesthetics, steam/dieselpunk, etc.
Also I’d just like to throw out this has nothing to do with “Calexit” and I was cooking this up in my head long before that was a thing.

I have been thinking of drawing my stuff, with a similar premise to yours but I lack the artistic skills and I was wondering if you would have any advice, on improving you art skills or anything I could look at for it?

That's sweet of you to ask but personally I feel I should be the last person one goes to for art advice.
I don't consider myself a refined artist, and personally I followed alot of basic art tutorials when trying to learn to draw. I don't really want to say "just keep drawing," since it's a really broad generalization, and throw away advice. I had always been drawing beforehand, it's just when I felt this idea formulating in my head over a long time, and I felt with what "art skills" I had, and just started doodling it from time to time. I had drawn alot of pictures before I even uploaded this account. It's just with each drawing I made, I felt myself inputting more details than the previous one. I feel my art style is kind of a mess, though I try to make each drawing feel slightly different. Personally I'd say when you start drawing is to experiment, and draw alot of different things, and gain experience in human figures and what not. I feel drawing the same thing over and over again can hurt an artist in the long run.
