Well, for most of the technical stuff, I use Doga L3, then polish it off with Vue de Esprite.

is any of that free stuff? becuase i have been trying to use blender to learn 3D modeling but the UI's a little complicated...

I think Doga L3 is free, you can register it, but al lthat lets you do is make animations.. but its not a true 3d modeler, what it is, is like lego, its used for putting stuff together.. but it does come with a bunch of decent parts. I make a lot of my own in Rhino 3d.
