# About me

I am an Israeli jewelry artist living and working in Jerusalem. I was born in the U.S. and moved to Israel in 1968. I have three terrific grown children and six delightful grandchildren.

I have always been fascinated by the decorative arts of ancient and classic cultures and my jewelry designs are often inspired by a classic motif, element or technique that takes on a new life as I translate it into a modern idiom. I use tradtional metalsmithing and modern variations on age-old wire-working techniques to create modern jewelry that evokes classic beauty and elegance.

My development as a jewelry artist began in childhood as I watched my parents at work on their own many handicraft projects. They passed on to me their enjoyment of the creative process and taught me diverse handicraft skills and the importance of high quality workmanship and attention to detail. Creativity in arts and crafts has remained a passion for me since then. My training in jewelry-making has been an organic, eclectic process of formal and informal study and self-teaching that continues to this day. I turned to the full-time pursuit of jewelry-making after retiring from an academic career in 2004.
