By naming them and giving them abilities? If that's the case:
1st: Ignizard (Fire)
2nd: Inciwyrm (Fire Poison)
3rd: Volcapent (Fire Dragon) <--- [Has a dragon-esque feel. Ice won't freeze it much and Fairy won't 1HKO it due to fire typing... hopefully. Water type, due to Dragon, will be weakened too. Rock would only be the real problem.]
If they're starters they should have the usual...
Starter ability: Blaze (All three stages)
Hidden ability: Flame Body (First stage) Stench (Second stage) Levitate (Last stage) <--- [Gains Ground Immunity for Fire Type.]
If they're not starters...
Line ability: Flash Fire (First two stages) Levitate (Last stage) <--- [Gains Ground Immunity for Fire Type.]
