Yo! Came by to thank you for the comment on my Ohaguro Bettari piece. I really appreciate it!

Your tagline "'Good enough' isn't good enough" really stood out to me. From one artist to another, it's very inspiring. From your descriptions in your deviations, it looks like you have a really good work ethic, and that's the most essential thing one needs in order to grow and improve. But don't forget to take a step back every once in a while, breathe, and celebrate all the little steps and successes you've attained along the way. ^_^

You're doing really great! Looking forward to all the milestones you'll reach in this ever-continuing journey!

(Also, Happy belated Birthday!    Hope it was a great one!)

(And so begins my reply-train to your comments... )

Well, I'm glad you appreciate my work! My motto is more a message to myself, than anything else. That is to say, I'm just never satisfied with where my art is. I need to grow, to improve constantly. With that in mind, I've found that if I focus too hard, though, I definitely lose the bigger picture, and my work starts looking even worse! I've learned to sort of stand somewhere in the middle, pushing when I feel like I should and taking it easy when my brain (and my eyes) start feeling otherwise. I'm pretty sure we all reach that place at some point. It's obvious to me that YOU sure have! ;D

Thank you for the Birthday wishes! Much like the cake I ate, it was a pretty good one.

I don't know if we'll ever come to a point where we're satisfied with where our art is.

Well, it's always a journey, never a destination. I'm taking it that art is something you've picked up in the recent years? Is it something you'd eventually want to do professionally?

But I'm glad you had a great birthday! What kind of cake did you get? Everyone around me seems to have their birthdays in the summer and we've been stuffing ourselves silly with cake.

Also, about your question on going professional, I have a feeling that it isn't so much something I'd "want" to do as it is an inevitability. That's a weird way to put it, I know, but that's how I feel about it. Not "if" but "when."

I can't stop drawing, anyway, and the more I draw the more I improve. I think it's only a matter of time (and timing).

I agree.
Yeah, I've been drawing for... two years now, I think? Three? I don't know. Something like that. Not very many. It's pretty obvious that I haven't been drawing for very long. >D
My cake was some pretty good yellow cake filled with vanilla pudding. It was pretty simple and just tasted insane. So good.

I really like your drawings. They are really good. I also love how they don't do the sex appeal as many do in this kind of style or close to this style. It is very refeshing, cute and sweet. You are a really great artist and you should be very pleased with yourself. Keep up the greqt art work. You will go far.

Wow, thanks so much! I don't know what to say.

I think you're very observant! It's true, I work very hard to avoid what's typically associated with this style of art. I prefer to refine the Japanese style and use it (eventually!) to depict works of beauty rather than "OMG BOOBS." Most of my inspirations (Yoshitoshi ABe, Kei Toumei, Haruhiko Mikimoto, and ) define their individual pieces through more gentle subject matter, so I get a lot out of that.

Thanks again!

Your welcome. I look forward to watching your art skills grow and you become of the artist you wish to be. Just please, don't ever change you thought on creating beauty without the sex appeal as you become better on it to please others. Remember, if your art doesn't please you on what you really want to do, then what is the sense of doing it. Unless you only wish to please the whims of others.

Keep up the good work, I know with time a patience, you will go far and perhaps show this world a thing or two.
