Well I just got news that I'm going to Japan to teach English. So here's to Culture Shock!

As soon as I sort out all the paper work I'm sure it's going to hit me like a ton of bricks and I'll be bouncing off the walls. Nothing like feeling the pressure with an underlying bubble of combustible excitement to get you through the day.

As it's only about 30 hours a week of work I'm hoping to develop my skillz considerably in all the aspects that I want to. Like digital drawing 2D and my 40K mod and a few other small (well large) projects I've been meaning to do for a LONG time.

So yay me!!

I've just finished my space marine and bolter for a mod I want to make for UT2007 and I'm pretty happy with the results. Learnt a LOT about normal mapping methods, interesting rigging methods and all manner of things to do with modelling for 'next gen'.

Then I spent a while getting a display piece sorted, took a bit cos I hadn't really played with hair/fur in max before for the grass, but the results look pretty good in my personal opinion. It's no character from Epic of course...but I'm certainly learning

I tried to do a little more with lighting and Global illumination and all that but failed miserably...stuck to a standard 2 points and a spotlight...*shrugs*
