Hello, my friend!My name is Dominik Mayer. I'm a German Concept Artist & Illustrator.
Currently i live and work in Munich.
I am working professionally for one year now. For several games and real time/virtual reality projects.
My passion is to explore new universes, worlds full of unique atmospheres, fascinating stories and interesting designs.
I would love to be part of their creation!
My biggest inspiration is history, science and that crazy world out there. And, of course, the great work of so many other artists.

Ich bin heute auf deine Sachen gestoßen und bin überwältigt, habe selten etwas gesehen, was meinen Geschmack so trifft!
Wenn ich fragen darf,
1. Hast du dir das selbst beigebracht oder warst du auf einer Schule/Universität?
2. Welche Art von Übungen hast du regelmäßig gemacht, um dich zu verbessern, bzw. welche würdest du empfehlen?
3. Wie viele Jahre zeichnest/illustrierst du schon? Wie viele Stunden etwa am Tag?
Tut mir leid, wenn ich dich mit diesen Fragen ein wenig überfalle, ich bin nur extrem interessiert daran, mich zu verbessern, und würde mich daher über eine Antwort enorm freuen!

Gerne! Frag alles was du willst! Sry dass ich so verzögert antworte.
1. Ich war in Nürnberg an der Technischen Hochschule Georg Simon Ohm. Dort hab ich Design studiert, mit dem Schwerpunkt auf Illustration. Das hat mir einiges gebracht, aber man muss sagen, dass das meiste von Eigeninitiative abhängig ist, wie schnell man sich verbessert. Da kann ein Studium auch nur den Anstoß geben. Machen muss man es selbst
2. Ich mach vor allem Speedpaintings. Immer 30 min. Ich versuch es jeden Tag zu machen, aber das klappt nicht immer. Ansonsten sind Studien von alten Meistern oder Fotos auch immer sehr hilfreich. Dabei lernt man immer sehr viel. Sehr gut ist auch das tatsächliche Rausgehen und in der Natur arbeiten oder Aktzeichnen. Das hilft enorm viel um sich im Hinblick auf Farbe, Formen und Anatomie zu verbessern.
3. Gezeichnet hab ich schon immer. Richtig aktiv bin ich seit ca. 4 Jahren. Vor allem was das Digitale angeht. Meine tägliche Dosis variiert immer zwischen 30min und 4-5 Stunden. Da ist die Arbeit nicht mit eingerechnet. Aber die Zeit spielt an sich keine so große Rolle. Am wichtigsten ist, Spaß am Malen/Zeichnen zu haben wenn man übt. Dann verbessert man sich automatisch. Auch wenn du nur 10 min Tag übst.
