i was working on one of the customs i owe you and i think i'm going to redo the one i've got done currently, so i apologize for that. it's been so long but i've also been busy the last few days too. i'll try to use a different process when creating the customs so that they turn out better. :] sorry again

It's a horror one and I'm still developing the characters and such. Only got the main cast and setting done. :v
Not much progress. I haven't had too much motivation at the moment and I still need to get plenty of research done before I actually get started on the plotline. :0

There's a lot of things I need to research, oof. :v Like the army ranks and what the soldiers do specifically. And the little things too, like what they usually eat and what they're allowed to do during free time. A lot of things I haven't had the time for. :"0
Nice! I usually make lots of sketches of my characters too, though I don't digitilize them as much since it is a pain and it can take hecka long for even the littlest of things and doodles. :/ I try to color them though, but yeah I totally agree!!

The ranking system might sound complicated from the wall of text I made...but it really isn't xD
What they eat? Well, people are not demons that eat babies, so prolly just normal canteen-like, probably disgusting food xD When on mission/operation that takes longer, they eat MRE's
And as for free time, well. I know what Marines do in their free time, so I expect Army will have something similiar.
They're just dicking around, waiting for operation or they're on patrol duty. Or maybe they could even have some sibling rivalry with Marines xD

Ok, for ranks (Just btw, I'm not from US xD):
Judging by the looks of your soldiers, they will prolly be from US Army, not from US Marines, soooo:
(Name (Abbreviation, Pay grade))
Private (PVT, E1), Private Second Class (PV2, E2), Private First Class (PFC, E3), Specialist (SPC, E4) - Enlisted Soldiers (self explanatory)
Corporal (CPL, E4), Sergeant (SGT, E5), Staff Sergeant (SSG, E6), Sergeant First Class (SFC, E7), Master Sergeant (MSG, E8), First Sergeant (1SG, E8), Sergeant Major (SGM, E9), Command Sergeant Major, (CSM, E9), Sergeant Major of the Army (SMA, E9) - Non-Commisioned officers (Training military personel and executing military operations.)
[Warrant Officer 1 (WO1, W1), Chief Warrant Officer 2 (CW2, W2), Chief Warrant Officer 3 (CW3, W3), Chief Warrant Officer 4 (CW4, W4), Chief Warrant Officer 5 (CW5, W5) - Warrant Officers (Technical foundation, specializing in technical areas, like: Aviation, Intelligence and Military Police. Also responsible for: training soldiers, organizing and advising on missions and advancing within their career specialities. Cannot hold command authority.)]
Second Lieutenant (2LT, O1), First Lieutenant (1LT, O2), Captain (CPT, O3) - Commissioned Officers (Commands NCOs)
Major (MAJ, O4), Lieutenant Colonel (LTC, O5), Colonel (COL, O6) - Field Officers (You get the idea)
(The rest are generals..not really interesting xD)
Promoting:
If you don't qualify to start at higher ranks upon enlisting, you will be lowest rank in the army: Private or E1
E1 to 2, E2 to 3 and 3 to 4 is done upon recommendations to local command with promotion authority (Field Officer). Unit is allowed a specific number of promotions every month
to E5, and from E5 to E6 is done by point system. You're recommended (by your officer) to attend a promotion board (or DA board, Department of Army board). In the "board" you will be seated before a group of NCOs and you will try to answer a variety of questions about your knowlege about military and military events, your job and at the end, if you answers are satisfactory, the individual will become "promotable" and get set ammount of points. There are also points for PT test, certain decorations etc. (The board is main thing tho). Maximum ammount of points is 1000. This is the "cutoff" score.
From E6 to E7, E7 to E8 and E8 to E9, you don't personally appear before a board, but your military record will be sent to senior military leaders and they will decide if you're deserving for promotion or not.
From 1LT to COL is done by DA board, but from what I've read, only difference is the criteria.
(Battlefield promotion is also an option. Promotion based on your performance during combat)
Structure:
1 Team/Fireteam = 3 men + SGT (4 men. Normally consisted of: Team leader (SGT), grenadier, rifleman, automatic rifleman unless it's specialized team (AT, AA, etc.))
1 Squad = 2-3 Teams, that's 8-16 soldiers, including SSG who leads them
1 Platoon = 2-4 Squad = 16-44 soldiers, including 2LT or 1LT who leads them
1 Company = 3-5 Platoons = 60-200 soldiers, including Captain
1 Battalion = 3-5 Companies = 300-1000 soldiers, including Lieutenant Colonel
1 Brigade = 3+ Battalions = 1500-3200 soldiers, including Colonel
1 Division = 3 Brigades = 10000-16000 soldiers, including Major General
1 Corps = 2-5 Divisions = 20000-40000 soldiers, including Lieutenant General
