thank you for the compliments!..it's not really that unique i just draw in a style that im just comfy with and fits my artistic ideals. Your photos are awesome too..i can really see the effort especially your fave pic..was the lighting enhanced digitally or it's natural and the rest is just your lens manipulation to further get the lighting you wanted.

Sometimes I increase the color saturation digitally (Rear-end I increased by 10%) and add UV or colored filters to my camera to adjust the hues (blocking out greens or reds and enhancing blues in Numb), but the lighting brightness and contrast just took a lot of patience (if you are talking about the two that I have featured) waiting for the sky to be just right. There are 100 pics that sucked, where the lighting was off, for every 1 that looks good, lol. I was once told by a fabulous photographer, when I asked what his secret was, "Patience is the best tool a photographer can have."
I like your style a lot! It's very interesting and reminds me of the old posters that you see from the 1900's to the 1950's. Very cool!

thanks for the info Sara..im not really huge photography enthusiast though i had some lessons about the subject way back in college but it was still in ancient film..lol..but if i did become a photographer or take up a serious interest on photography as either a hobby or profession i'd be more of a landscape photographer and also do some portrait on the side..but most of my shots would be in black and white..though i don't have anything against color but in my opinion black and white photography really defines the character and skill of a photographer because it's all b&w it's just gonna be the composition and the lighting that's gonna make or break a shot.

I like black and white. I think it brings out the drama in a shot. It takes away the clutter and just leaves you with the essence of the subject.

yup..exactly..imho most photographers today tend to lose focus on the most essential and basic requirement which is the story of the shot and how the photographer composes the elements to fully realize the story on a visual standpoint. Most tend to glorify the superficial..for example, in portrait photography..imho the point there is to bring out the model's character and personality through the her/his face and it's up to the photographer on how he directs his/her model in regards as to how the model should pose, tilt, look or smile but instead some photographers go for detail..how he manipulates the model's skin tone, eye color, hair color etc. though these elements are also important but for me they should only be 2nd priority in the context of the said field of photography. Which reminds me of my other art teacher he just simply told us: "I know how a goddamn tree looks like, how the bark looks like, how the leaves looks like etc. i've seen the real thing..what i want to you to do is how you express through your chosen artistic media on what makes your tree interesting to look at and makes it goddamn worthy of my precious time to look at it. There's nothing special on how you realistically draw the thing that can be mastered in a few weeks or years but it's how you show me your understanding, interpretation and creating a story out of a simple tree on a visual standpoint. That kind of artistic awareness can't be perfected overnight or mastered in years, but only until the day you die. The journey itself is the destination and once you decide to end it so does your artistic careers. So, to put it bluntly, keep on practicing and expanding your craft you morons!". LOL! the whole class didn't know how to react to the statement and after so many years i finally understood what he meant.

That's a damned good teacher! I had someone tell me that my photo can be technically perfect but totally boring because the subject is completely uninteresting. He said to make sure I always have shooting grand in the back of my mind. Bring out the grand scope of the emotion, personality or message of the shot and the technicality will fade into the background. I have had shots that were blurred and off colored, but the message came through and that other stuff just faded away. I will remember what you said though. That's a damned good thing to keep in mind.

The superficial details are important too..but it should never be the SUPER main priority of a photographer or artist in general..All the good lessons are so hard to apply..but for as long as we're alive we should keep on trying..we falter and make mistakes ALL the time..but that's ok..the worst thing is losing our focus entirely..now that's scary..lol!!
