Dimitri picked up his transmitter, unsure if he was going to get any reply. He remembered today specifically, however, and wanted to at least leave a message behind on Mac's transmitter whenever she may hear it. "H-Hey Mac, I know today is your b-birthday, so, ah, well, happy birthday.."

(oh god my heart, I'm so sorry! I feel okay now that I've come back, and I regret being gone so long. *hides* I'm so sorry! 
There is quiet, and she replies after a long time. "Dimitri?"

He perked up, grabbing his transmitter again with a hopeful smile, "Mac, h-hi, ah, how are y-you? Good, I hope?"

She relaxed when he spoke, "I'm fine. Better than I've been in a while, actually. I'm sorry for that... I don't know why I did it... How are you?"

"Oh, ah, w-well I'm doing really well. I-I don't know if you heard but, ah," Dimitri paused to blush a bit, "Bo and I g-got a duck.. It was t-thanks to family. He was a really cute l-little baby, but now he's m-much bigger. Would y-you maybe want pictures? He was s-so small before, you wouldn't b-believe it.."

She looked surprised but in a good way, "Oooooh, yes! Pictures!"

Dimitri was already sending her pictures and videos that were saved on his transmitter over to her, giggling from some of the images. "H-He really is our baby boy and n-no one can tell us any d-different."

She grinned, watching the images flit by, "I hope no one has tried, I can't find any argument against this little one being yours."

"Well I would h-have to politely inform them o-otherwise if it ever did happen." He nodded firmly after that, giggling softly at his silly little comment. "Have you been up t-to anything interesting lately?"

She smiled at his tone, happy that he'd been well.
"I don't want to worry you. I've been ok mostly, but a few days ago I saw someone I used to know... From before..."

"The 'but' p-part means that's a bad thing, r-right?" Dimitri couldn't help but get a little concerned, which was clear by his body language. "Are you going t-to be okay Mac?"

"H-Have you talked to them?" He bit his lip, rubbing his arm out of slight nervousness. "At least you h-have a safe place, that means t-the most to me.."

*After giving her many hours of space for sleep, Crane knocks lightly on her door as he stands in the doorway* Miss Gilbert, how are you feeling?

Good. I hope, while in the time you're here, you do not mind my other patients coming and going. I will keep up with other's as I care for you. *He briefly took a spoonful of soup and swallowed it before continuing* I do not expect to have you around long, only long enough to be sure you're healthy and stable enough on your own.
