πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragon--Writer In reply to Zilla0128 [2016-01-24 06:16:32 +0000 UTC]

Aside from the Draconian Archives I write for pleasure. It can be anything from comedy to fiction, I don't have too much of a preference. I try to get inspiration from books I've read or situations I've been a part of. Sometimes Constelia gives me prompts she thinks are interesting and I go from there.Β

Zilla0128 In reply to Dragon--Writer [2016-01-24 06:52:22 +0000 UTC]

Ah, National November Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo, is where you write a 50,000 word novel in the month of November.

What do you read?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragon--Writer In reply to Zilla0128 [2016-01-24 07:03:08 +0000 UTC]

Oh my. I don't think I would ever have the time to write in a 50,000 word novel in a month. At least, not one that I would be 100% happy with! Have you done it? That'd be quite the feat.

I read about the same things I write about: everything! I can't say I have a preference. Every genre brings something exciting to the table. My favorite genres are fiction and romance. There's just something about those cliche cheesy romances or heroic protagonists that draws me in to the point where I can't be bothered for hours. What's your idea of a good book?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Zilla0128 In reply to Dragon--Writer [2016-01-24 07:17:56 +0000 UTC]

Well, I have done it, just barely. It's a struggle when you have other matters to attend to at the same time.

So you're an avid reader, then. My idea of a good book? Hmm, well, honestly, any book that can retain my interest, really. I'll read anything if it captures my interest, that's how it always has been. So with that in mind, that means I've touched quite a lot of books. Including things that may have bored other people to death.

Heh, you certainly go have picked a better username, are there any other names I could refer to you as?

Haha I suppose it isn't very easy to shorten. I liked Dragon Writer because it is a homophone (Dragon Rider) and the first thing that got me interested in dragons was the Eragon series. I'm currently working on a persona with Constelia, so you can call me by her name: Elysia.Β

Dragon--Writer In reply to Zilla0128 [2016-01-25 12:20:56 +0000 UTC]

Oh the dreaded questionΒ Β . I never know how to answer this sufficiently. I am a senior in high school. I play soccer and (obviously) like to read and write in my spare time. When I go off to college I hope to become an attorney and hopefully get involved in international law. I have extreme wanderlust. I've traveled all over the US but only out of the country twice, once to Honduras and once to the Dominican. The next target on my map is Colombia. I have three sisters. I am learning to speak Spanish and German.

Hopefully that answers your questionΒ Β

What about you? I'm interested to learn more about Zilla.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Zilla0128 In reply to Dragon--Writer [2016-01-26 00:18:19 +0000 UTC]

The dreaded question eh? Heh, I understand though. You answered it just fine. With all the traveling you do, don't you think you'll lose the wanderlust one day?

Well, about myself. I am an introverted sophomore in high school who has been told by multiple people that he is too mature for his age (and quite frankly, converses with people who are older than him most of the time). I don't play any sports like you, but I do like to read, write, even dabble with art, and play video games in my spare time. (How much more nerdier can it get?) I do not know what direction I plan with a career choice, perhaps I shall find out soon. So while you've been doing some extensive traveling in the US, I have been out of country a lot. Although, I have been to places around the US, like Alaska, or the Grand Canyon, stuff like that. As for sibling(s), I have one older brother in college. I am pretty much learning to speak Mandarin. And of course, you can call me Zilla, or by my actual first name as shown on my page, whatever works for you, I don't really have a preference.

Now, I hope that suffices as an answer for you.

Have you played any instruments before?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragon--Writer In reply to Zilla0128 [2016-01-26 04:20:50 +0000 UTC]

Well I suppose I never thought of wanderlust as a thing I'd lose. There are so many places I haven't explored yet I wonder if I'll ever get to them all.Β

I hope there isn't a negative connotation on your hobbies. I think that those things work your brain quite well and more of our generation should challenge ourselves more. With all the places I've travelled I've never been to Alaska. What's it like there?
Mandarin is a really useful language. I doubt it's easy to learn either! That's really cool. I don't attend a school that teaches any Asian languages. I'd like to learn more.

Your answer certainly suffices.

I can't say I'm very musically adept. However, I did play the cello in the 5th and 6th grade and the guitar in 9th. The instruments just never really stuck with me. Have you (do you) play any instruments?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Zilla0128 In reply to Dragon--Writer [2016-01-26 05:06:51 +0000 UTC]

How many places do you want to explore exactly? It's definitely possible to lose wanderlust, of course whether or not it happens and when it happens or if it ever happens depends on the person. I lost mine, whether that would be something I would yearn to have back or not, is something I am unsure of. Although, I am perfectly happy staying cooped up at home, in serenity, isolated from society for the most part.

I am not quite sure what you mean by negative connotations, if you could clarify a bit, that would be great. Alaska, it is cold, as expected, but it's not bad at all, plenty to see, I suppose. And of course, you likely heard about the day/night cycle situation there. However, my disfavor for cold climates probably puts me at a bias here.
It is definitely not easy to learn. I think, depending on where you are in the US affects some of the availability of foreign languages taught, so me, being on the west coast of the US, there's a bigger chance my school would have someone capable of teaching an Asian language. Of course, you're free to ask about it, although, I am probably not the best person to be asking things about it.

Mm, well, I did play the violin for three years, started in 6th grade, and ended on 8th because I lost interest in it, by then, I figured I was more of a listener/appreciator of music than one that performs.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragon--Writer In reply to Zilla0128 [2016-01-26 06:00:46 +0000 UTC]

When I said negative connotations, I was hoping that you didn't reflect on your hobbies negatively. Like, you didn't see them as "less than" other peoples'.

You seem to be very intellectual. What's your goal in life? Where do you see yourself in the future?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Zilla0128 In reply to Dragon--Writer [2016-01-26 07:13:02 +0000 UTC]

Ah, I see. I do have this perfectionist tendency, but I don't constantly berate myself to the point where I destroy what ego I may have after seeing someone else's product that is better than mine. There's always someone better than you in the world at something. It's hard to realize if you're like me, but when you do, things get better, simply put.

An intellectual sort I may be or may not be, I don't really determine that title myself. As for my goal in life... I do not have an answer to that, well, perhaps not a simple answer such as "to be happy" or something of the sort. Hmm, let's see if I can put this into words. Life, to me, you approach what it throws at you, adapt to the current situation or circumstance, you make your goals based on the current situation or circumstance, but the issue lies upon the multitudes of variables and scenarios, life is unpredictable, as I see it. You decisions can influence the path, but there's always one ending, that would be death. How you reach that ending, is determined by the actions you take prior to the said ending. The Butterfly Effect, I believe, illustrates this well. So I try not to think too far ahead, especially with the massive amounts of unknowns in the future, there is always uncertainty. But to answer your question without my philosophizing crap. My current near-future goal is to: get out of high school with good marks and get into a good college. After that, adjust plan accordingly, make new near-future goals. I think this answers both questions, even though I originally meant to tackle one. As where I see myself in the future corresponds with how I make goals in life.

Sorry if this wasn't too satisfactory, I had a hard time explaining this even though this is my best medium of communication.

Dragon--Writer In reply to Zilla0128 [2016-01-26 12:47:26 +0000 UTC]

No it was good! I got what you meant. I agree that you can't really determine what the future holds because you aren't there yet. Life changes unexpectedly. I was wondering what career goals you had in mind.Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Zilla0128 In reply to Dragon--Writer [2016-01-27 09:03:07 +0000 UTC]

Career goals? Hmm, I haven't considered much where I want to go since I haven't decided upon a career either. I have been narrowing down things, but I am still undecided. Of course, I assume when you say "career" you mean job. It always surprises me how people seem to have it all figured out already with what they want to do.

Do you have any preferred foods/drinks?

Perhaps not as much time left, but still... time.

Oh, I've never tried that before, it sounds good. As for me, I have a hard time picking favorites, but I really love boba/bubble tea.

Have you already decided what college you want to go to? Is it out of state?

First of all...HAPPY BIRTHDAYΒ  Β  I hope you had a great day! Did you do anything special?

Boba tea is really an interesting blend of texture and flavor. I can't say I enjoy the tea part in particular, but the boba is nice.Β

I haven't decided on a college yet. I'm looking in NYC and Chicago as my first choices. There is one school in state that I'm considering as well.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Zilla0128 In reply to Dragon--Writer [2016-01-29 07:56:27 +0000 UTC]

Thank you very much! I didn't really do anything special, ah, it was almost a normal day anyway, not that it bothered me.

Oh, why don't you enjoy the tea part of it? There are so many different flavors.

I don't know how far you are away from the east coast, but those are some pretty urbanized areas. NYC especially. Heh, I wouldn't be able to survive in a city like that.

What would your liked or favorite subjects at school be?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragon--Writer In reply to Zilla0128 [2016-01-29 12:28:03 +0000 UTC]

I suppose I just don't enjoy tea. I've tried it many different ways and cannot seem to find a flavor or style that I like.Β

I live in Arkansas currently, so both places are pretty far.

Right now I suppose my favorite subject is between German and government. However, when I go to college I want to take psychology classes and I'm really excited for those.

Nevada. I'm not really sure what to say about it.

Dragon--Writer In reply to Zilla0128 [2016-02-02 04:05:23 +0000 UTC]

I go to Las Vegas every year for a soccer tournament! It is quite a barren state, but very pretty nonetheless.

As for my writing process, it usually ends up me staring at a page until inspiration comesΒ Β . If I have a prompt it's sometimes easier. Sometimes listening to music helps.

Do you have a creative process you go through?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Zilla0128 In reply to Dragon--Writer [2016-02-02 06:17:04 +0000 UTC]

Ah, Las Vegas, not a bad place, I think. Interesting though. Where have your soccer tournaments taken you?

Hmm, I see.

Well, unlike you, I don't sit around staring at a page/blank document waiting for inspiration, because it never comes when you want it to, it just comes when it does. So, what I do instead is get some of my not-distracting (and most of the time: epic) instrumental music playing and I literally write some crap on the page until it makes coherent sense, it works. I do find prompts make it easier of course. As for my dabbling in art, it's as simple as picking up the sketchbook and pencil, then scratching stuff onto it.
