well, for me, i'm a bit picky on the low resolution, making it look liek you're playing the game through a screened door. But i ordered the second version, order confirmed, just waiting for it to be shipped. DevKit2 is supposed to seriously improve the resolution.

but yeah, once you put that on and couple it with a headset, you might as well be blind and deaf to the outside world.

friend of mine on Steam has mentioned that his cat startled him when he had it on. poor kitty.

lol, I played a demo game called Dreadhalls. it's like amnesia, though enemy encounters aren't scripted, so you literally have no clue when shit's going to pop out.

and it didn't help that Esc = alt-F4...

But yeah, imagine playing a game with the screen in front of each eye and focused just right, and turning your head left and right turning you in-game, and that's pretty much it.

most people make demos to show off the feelings you get. rollercoasters, skydiving, generic horror, etc. works pretty damn well at immersion.

of eyeglass that connect to our central nervous system and leaves the body

Yeah. I think we all hope it does. 
Oh! I just remembered something else that would be cool.
Like a room that sets a hologram of a certain location with monsters
and you have to battle them. Like you can choose the location and move from there
just that as you move you're actually just standing in the same place.
Technically speaking though, it would be much more expensive.

true, but this is a huge step in the right direction. you have people making full motion suits (just small nodes are certain parts to control movement, etc), The Rift, stationary treadmills to simulate and generate running in-game, etc. So yeah. I think the guys making the..well, not really a suit, but skeleton of sensors are onto something.
