I got this DA account years ago so that I could keep track of some favorite artists and writers. I mainly use Live Journal for blogging and for showcasing my creative projects (cosplay and fanfic, mostly).I'm not much of an artist. There are a few old pictures I drew and colored on my personal website. But in my opinion, I make a better writer than artist!

My name is Shawny.
I'm Chinese-American, born and raised in San Francisco. I attended and then graduated UC Davis with a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering. I love many things, but most especially I love my husband and my children.
I like a lot of anime. I've been watching it since I was a kid - and I don't intend to stop anytime soon! Now-a-days I don't have much time for anime, but I watch it when I can. I enjoy reading and writing fan fiction. I write on and off (mostly off; I went years without writing anything) whenever the mood hits me and if time permits. I dabble mostly, so my writing is probably a bit rusty. Real Life keeps me pretty busy! Occasionally, I cosplay.
Other things I like: eating, pasta, BBQ, sushi, Vienamese noodle soups, dim sum, cookies, iced tea, anime, reading, Dance Dance Revolution (DDR), anime conventions - Hmm... Notice how many of my likes involve food? ^^; I'm also interested in personal finance and accounting. I enjoy investing and watching my portfolio grow.
Dislikes: hot and humid weather, wet and frosty weather, radio commercials, so called "real" TV, plagiarism
Pet Peeves: People who mix up and misuse homophones. People who write in so called "Computer English" (sez, ur, frenz, etc). I'm good at English, so people who don't use the English language properly really, really annoy me!

I got this from my friend DeadEmoNinja. I want to warn you about something before it's too late:
OK, so many of you have heard this already, but there's a hacker going around on DA, he's getting into peoples accounts, and even worse, he deactivates them completely. There is a way to avoid this though, if you ever get an email from nobody@Da.com or something like that, asking you to change your passwords, don't do it, it's a trick to get your account hacked, just delete the email as soon as possible.
and now onto worse matters, below is a message (from microsoft I believe) that is warning people of a massive hacker, and the steps you need to take to stop him from getting you. I would like to thank for getting this info.
IF A PERSON CALLED SIMON ASHTON ( SIMON25@HOTMAIL.CO.UK ) CONTACTS YOU THROUGH EMAIL DON'T OPEN THE MESSAGE. DELETE IT BECAUSE HE IS A HACKER!!
TELL EVERYONE ON YOUR LIST BECAUSE IF SOMEBODY ON YOUR LIST ADDS HIM THEN YOU WILL GET HIM ON YOUR LIST. HE WILL FIGURE OUT YOUR ID COMPUTER ADDRESS, SO COPY AND PASTE THIS MESSAGE TO EVERYONE EVEN IF YOU DON'T CARE FOR THEM AND FAST BECAUSE IF HE HACKS THEIR EMAIL HE HACKS YOUR MAIL TOO!!!!!...

If you open either file, a message will appear on your screen saying: 'It is too late now, your life is no longer beautiful.'
Subsequently you will LOSE EVERYTHING IN YOUR PC,
And the person who sent it to you will gain access to your name, e-mail and password.
This is a new virus which started to circulate on Saturday afternoon. AOL has already confirmed the severity, and the anti virus software's are not capable of destroying it .

You're right. Cosplay designers and photographers are artists, too. I guess I don't think of myself as an artist because I don't draw/sketch/paint - and those are the things I think of when I think of "artist".

I just want to know, since your posts turns out perfect I just wanted to know... Do you use a specific writing program or anything, any answer would help... please!

No. I don't use a specific writing program. The problem with DA text submissions is that DA only supports plain text. It doesn't have a very good text editor - which is why I prefer uploading to FFdotNet over DA. FFdotNet has a better text editor.
To make the pretty paragraphs, italics, bold, and underlined text, and the horizontal scene breaks that I use, you need to use HTML.
DA supports a limited number of HTML tags to make your text pretty.
The ones I use most:
insert text here
start and end a paragraphinsert text here underline
insert text here italic
insert text here bold
line break
horizontal rule (used for scene breaks) for example:
