He seemed to give a shit when Otto "killed" peter and became the superior spider-man. Remember this is the same guy who threw Peter's girlfriend off a bridge. And then proceeded to do it again to MJ. Not to mention he faked Aunt May's death and orchestrated the whole clone saga along with robot duplicates of his parents on top of stealing/killing his first child....yeah this guy makes it seem like he cares when he makes it THAT personal. He doesn't just try to kill Spider-man like most villains.... no he tries to BREAK his spirit. And he's come close a few times. This dude doesn't even need a reason for revenge in the same way Eddie did. He's just straight up evil. He doesn't get anything out of this other then just because he can. He does all this shit just to fuck with him. This is like a the same thing with Batman and joker. He doesn't NEED a reason. He just does it.

Except Carnage is even WORSE. He's literally Marvel's Joker. He's evil just for the sake of being pure evil. It's fun. It's easy. So he does it. His rivalry is that he's everything Spider-Man isn't. Venom? Still has those morals and keeps it to him and Spider-Man. Green Goblin is evil fro profit and because Spidey ruined his life. Carnage? Carnage is evil and vile just for the sake of being a murderous psychopath.

AH. I get it. Also? Honestly to me I do LIKE a villainous Venom but..... just keeping him like that is very.... one-dimensional and hurts the story. Green Goblin and Carnage are able to live with that because well.... they're insane and evil for no real reason. Venom's a being of vengeance. Eventually he's gonna move on.

True. Carnage is insane for two reasons. One the symbiote. Two he had a REALLY bad childhood. Goblin is insane simply because of the goblin serum.
